Elie Tahari Mira Pleated Leather Tote

I would like to introduce you ladies to a designer named Elie Tahari. He is famous for his luxury ready-to-wear line and has been in the business of fashion since the 1970′s. It wasn’t until recently, however, that the New York-based designer added handbags to his collection. His designs are very modern and sophisticated, while still maintaining a sense of timelessness about them. Up until this point though, Elie Tahari bags didn’t really call to me. Perhaps they just don’t stand out enough? I don’t know. But all that flew out the window when my eyes landed on the Elie Tahari Mira Pleated Leather Tote.

Wow! This gorgeous piece features both origami-like pleats and ruffles. Talk about architectural elements making their way into a handbag’s design! I love the look of structured, diagonal lines on an unstructured shape. It really gives this bag a unique and intriguing look. Plus the ruffles in the center are simply to die for! They add just the right amount of interest and they create a focal point to which your eyes can be drawn. This bag has such a luxurious feeling and it is definitely an investment piece. But it would also make a great everyday style, providing you with something you can cherish for many years!

I wonder how this bag looks on. It looks nice in the picture, but we all know in real life it might be much different. Loving the rum shade!

I have a couple piece of clothing by this designer, and I had no idea that she made handbags. I’m going to have to go check this out.
