Lanvin Assouan Flat Sac Bag

Lanvin Studded Shoulder Bag
What’s this I see? Could this be a new City Tote from Foley and Corinna? Wrong! Try again! This bag is actually one of Lanvin’s new additions for Spring. Introducing the Lanvin Assouan Flat Sac.

Soft navy blue leather is paired with brown braided handles and black/silver lucite stud hardware. It is a convertible style, just like the F+Cs I have come to know and love. It can be worn either as a hand-held or a shoulder bag. Or, you can simply take the detachable strap off, fold it in half, and carry it as a nifty magazine clutch. Overall, this bag isn’t too bad. I love the rich navy blue color, the studs, and the versatility. The braided leather handles threw me off a little bit at first, but they are starting to grow on me. Foley and Corinna lovers will most likely feel drawn to this bag. I know I do! Now if only it was priced like a F+C!

You can check out the Lanvin Assouan Flat Sac at *NET-A-PORTER.COM*, where it is called the Lanvin Studded Shoulder Bag. It measures 16″ x 11″ x 1″ and retails for $1,845. Yowza!

I like everything about this bag, except for the color. I need something bright for spring, like green, pink or yellow. But since this is such a classic brand, I doubt my wish will come true.

Foley and Corinna handbags are made with really cheap leather, Lanvin is way on the other side of the spectrum.

I’m putting this bag on my wish list – if it pops up in a pink? I would die!

I think that if this bag came in another color, like the hot fuchsia pink they used last summer then it would sell off the shelves.

For conversation.. I hope you don’t mind me disagreeing with you, but I don’t see the comparison of Lanvin to Foley and Corinna. I just don’t see the similarity. . only the 2-in-1 / clutch-to-handbag.. but what brand hasn’t done that? FC isn’t the creator of that style.

The brands aren’t even in the same league.. that’s like comparing Hermes to Coach. The quality and craftsmanship is such a huge difference — which is why this bag is priced so high

    This bag is so amazing.

Gina, I agree with you. I’m confused as well. Lanvin handbags look nothing like Foley & Corina.
That’s actually sorta insulting to the brand! lol.

Love this bag! FC is the cheapest brand there is. I have no idea why people go gaga over their styles. It’s the same thing season after season and the leather is so cheap. You know what else is cheap? The designers can’t even afford the extra $2. (their wholesale) to produce dustbags! What handbag designer doesn’t do that? (( breathe )) haha sorry. I really dislike that brand. I use to own a couple handbags by them, but after a while I realized there are so many other designer out there.

Like this Lanvin for example. Yay. I love it!

$2k isn’t that much for Lanvin! Once you experience the craftsmanship and quality of a lanvin, you will never go back to lower end brands.

Oh I laloves it! However I would love to find this one on sale.

This bag vs owning a Lanvin? I think everybody will say Lanvin.

I think this bag is really gorgeous, but that’s so much.

Lanvin is such an expensive brand. If I had the extra money I would pick one up.

I love that lanvin finally added a two in one bag. :)

BRS, I saw what you wrote over in TBF and I am confused why you didn’t respond on here.
You gave your opinion like I gave mine.

By you starting off with “What’s this I see? Could this be a new City Tote from Foley and Corinna? Wrong! Try again! This bag is actually one of Lanvin’s new additions for Spring.”… that is comparing. Then over in TBF you said “This bag is a really nice bag, but I could get the same look for much less $$$”.. again comparing the brands.

They are nothing alike. The leather, quality and not to mention the bags look nothing alike.

I don’t you to feel offended with what I am saying. I’m just giving my opinion.

I love the color of this bag.

  17. Ellen says: - March 5, 2009 at 4:01 pm

Except for the whole comparison of FC + Lanvin.. thanks for posting.

I adore Lanvin and I’m glad to see you guys reported on their latest spring style :D

  18. Faye says: - March 5, 2009 at 5:01 pm

I’m going to order this bag soon. I think it’s stunning.

  19. BRS says: - March 5, 2009 at 6:54 pm

Gina – I didn’t respond on here because I was was confused why
people acted so offended by me comparing the bag to F+C and I wasn’t
sure how to respond. I wasn’t trying to be sneaky or anything. It’s okay to give your opinion,
I don’t have a problem with people having opinions, that’s what
blogging is all about after all.
I don’t think F+C is really that “cheap” though and I really do
love my Fuchsia Mini City. But I do agree with Poppy about the
    whole dust bag thing.
