Rebecca Minkoff Swing
I would like to introduce to you the Rebecca Minkoff Swing Pouchette! Whoa… wait a minute! Rebecca Minkoff? Yes, you heard right. Although it doesn’t look like it, this interesting-looking bag is made by the same designer who brought us the Morning After Bag. I guess she was going for a Wild West look! But I won’t brush is aside quite yet. Rebecca Minkoff is still one of my favorite designers, so I feel like I should at least give this bag a chance.
When it comes to fringe on handbags, I always say the more the merrier. But for some reason, I’m not really feeling the fringe on this bag. I hate to say it, but it reminds me of my mom’s fringe jacket that has been sitting in the closet (untouched) since her hippie days. The drawstring closure also seems to bug me a bit. It reminds me of a man’s lariat necktie. I will admit though, the star engraved on the slide adjuster is kind of cute. Also, the overall pouch shape is something I find quite appealing. After all, the pouch was such a hot style this last Fall! So if you’re feeling a bit cowgirl-ish, then this unusual creation from Rebecca Minkoff might be just the thing for you!

Ahh.. so THIS is the Swing? I’ve been curious on what the bag looked like! I’ve been checking Shopbop a lot and haven’t seen this bag until I saw your post on FB. I’m honestly not a fan of the western flair to it, and those fringes. It’s totally not my style.
By the way, I think MyObsessionsBoutique has another drawstring bag similar to this one that’s on sale right now, too. And according to the owner the bag is called “Honey.” The bag is woven instead of hanging fringes, it’s much cuter than the Swing. It was supposed to be from Becca’s Spring ’11 collection, but somehow Barb (M.O.B’s owner) somehow got them in super early for us. I would get it but it seems too small for me, and at $295 I would be tempted to get a MAC instead. However if the bag was $195, then I might reconsider getting it. I dunno.
Glad to see more and more of RM’s Spring bags popping up on the interwebs now. =D Now if RM would hurry up and send out pictures of the Pearl Pink bags I’ll be super duper happy. >:3
I hate this bag, but I love Rebecca Minkoff!!!! She’s such an amazing designer and doesn’t stick with the same old template.. she experiments with different styles.
I really want the Swing for xmas, but not in this color. I would love it in black!

What a fun little purse
I’ve never been a fan of cowboy movies, fringe or even western detailing. So this is a nay from me. I do think with the right outfit it would be a hit though!
