Vanessa Bruno Large Pocket Bag
Vanessa Bruno is a name that is seldom mentioned over at TBF. Although she is relatively new to the world of handbags (her first boutique was opened in Paris back in 1991), I am rather surprised that her name doesn’t pop up more often. Personally, I find many of her designs to be quite lovely. But, as with any designer, there are also ones out there that fall just a little bit short. One such bag is the Vanessa Bruno Large Pocket Bag. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the shape of this bag. It is structured, yet soft. I like the magnetic flap closure and I like how it tucks neatly behind the pocket located on the front side of the bag. I even like the cute little buckles. What I don’t like so much is the textured leather this bag is made of. I love soft leather, but I prefer leather that has a smooth appearance. This leather, however, gives the impression of elephant skin. Now who would want a handbag that looks like an elephant? I can safely say I wouldn’t. If only it were made of a smooth grain leather. Then it would rank with the other, more lovely, Vanessa Bruno handbags out there.
The Vanessa Bruno Large Pocket Bag measures 17″ x 13″ x 4.5″ and has a 9″ strap drop. It is available in Noir (black) and Persian (red).
Find it at shopbop.com, where it retails for $1,055.

This would make such a great work tote. Yah, thanks so much for posting this.
Who is this designer? She sounds familiar, like I’ve seen her name somewhere before. Perhaps a clothing line? Is that right?
Love this bag. It would be so perfect for school.
I would have to agree with the elephant skin description. Pretty positive I wouldn’t carry it with that type of leather, if only they would have made it smoother as you suggested!
For work, this bag is a definite yay.
Replying a century after your post: this bag was available in all sorts of colors and smooth leather. I, for example, have one in smooth chocolate brown leather.
