Metallic bags during the summer season? Heck yes! I think it’s about time we forget that age old notion categorizing metallic bags as only for the holiday season. Sure they do look fabulous with a little black dress, but just because the sun is out doesn’t mean they need to go into hiding. Personally I think a metallic evening clutch looks amazing year-round, but it has to be done right and with the right outfit. Which means, since we’re in the summer season right now, try pairing it with lighter shade, like a white dress or a fun flowy Diane von Furstenburg top.

Wanna know how you can score a free Marc Jacobs umbrella? Well it’s simpler than you may think. If you’re already on the lookout for a new Marc Jacobs purse, then look no further than Neiman Marcus. When you make a purchase from their online Marc Jacobs x Neiman Marcus Boutique of at least $795 or more, you’ll receive this chic black and white striped Marc Jacobs umbrella.

Lets talk color blocking. There’s a right way of doing it, and a wrong way. The Marc Jacobs Rose Bag is a perfect example of the right way. I personally think color blocking looks at it’s best when we’re talking about shades of a similar color, like how this bag has a two shades of blue. Now that compared to bags with blocking of random colors that don’t even connect on the color wheel – ie. like trying to match together red, blue and purple on the same bag. Not a fan.

There’s a ridiculously awesome sale going on right now over on MyTheresa, featuring over 400 gorgeous designer handbags by favorite name brands like Alexander McQueen, Givenchy, Emilio Pucci, Balenciaga, Dolce & Gabbana and more. Below are a couple of my favorites (only a couple!)..
Givenchy Antigona Clutch. $785 ($1,121)
Adding a high dose of vitamin C is just what the doctor ordered for summer. Love this juicy orange clutch. It will add some life to even the dullest outfit.
Alexander McQueen De Manta Floral Clutch. $368 ($525)
I have a secret obsession with watercoloring. It’s been my long time fascination with this technique that draws me in to this tonal rose watercolor-effect satin clutch by McQueen. Such a beauty!

Last year I bought the Alexander Wang Rocco in this vanilla white “Stone” color and absolutely loved it for the first couple days, then color transfer started to become an issue. Dark denim jeans being the main offender. And rather than deal with the every-other-day cleaning maintenance I exchanged it for the dark chocolate Rocco. So be warned, dark denims and white bags are not a good combination. However this is a white bag, and like most white bags they are meant to be worn during the summer months (unless winter white is your thing) so if you’re pairing this bag with a maxi dress or skirt, color transfer really isn’t going to be that big of an issue.

Whether you didn’t get that bag you had been dreaming of for Christmas or you just feel like spoiling yourself with a post-Holiday gift, then you’re not going to want to miss out on what I’m about to tell you. Today and throughout the weekend there are amazing online sample sales going on.. of course the sooner that you get there the best selection there will be. The hottest always sellout within minutes of the doors opening or sit in someones cart for what seems like hours.
Good luck!

Here are a few of my favorite purse picks:
The Row Shoulder Bag. $1740 ($2900)
Sleek and understated. This may look like an ordinary classic black bag at first sight but it is far from it. Get this, the multi-function strap easily adjusts this bag to be worn on the wrist, crossbody, over the shoulder, even the waist (yea, like a fanny back. If that’s you’re thing). Or for a more polished look, remove it all together and carry it as a clutch.

When can you ever find a designer Oscar de la Renta handbag for under $100. The answer is never.
Neiman Marcus recently joined forces with Target for the ultimate collaboration. One of my favorite pieces, that’s also on the top of my Christmas list is this gorgeous Oscar de la Renta handbag. It’s not one that I would carry around at this moment but with it’s light beige and white floral design it would be such a killer summer everydayer. And with it’s basic classic silhouette and ODLR quality, it’ll surely last.
