Meredith Wendell Satchel
The satchel is a hot bag. The satchel is a hot bag. The satchel is a hot bag… We keep hearing this over and over and seeing it represented by many handbag designers. The styles range from classic, preppy, outdoorsy, sophisticated, and executive in design. Fashion forward and colorful? Not so much. Enter a rising star designer: Meredith Wendell.
Pop style, color-blocking immediately set this bag apart from most satchels. Strong contrasting colors or black, white, silver and grey or vibrant red, cobalt, turquoise and periwinkle make bold statements while offering the high functionality of a satchel.
This canvas and leather bag features three internal compartments and a large zippered pocket inside to keep you well organized. The bag is roomy at 11″ x 9″ x 7″, but perhaps too large to remove the detachable shoulder strap featured on this bag and use it as a clutch. However, the hooks provide an interesting design element.
A bold red interior contrasts nicely with the exterior colors. I would love to see the functionality increased by being able to separate the interior pouches for a more functional clutch, but this bag has plenty of interesting style to offer. Contrasting piping outlines the bottom of each pouch for a little more interest. For $795 you can indulge in one of the hottest bags styles of the moment with a little extra color excitement.
