Motif 56 woven Josie Bag
I’m not going to lie. I write about a lot of fringed handbags. I don’t know what it is, but for some reason I find fringe fascinating. The feeling of a mountain of fringe swinging back and forth with every move you make certainly puts a spring in your step. How could anyone possibly resist? So when I see a delightfully fringed handbag, I find it hard to resist writing about it! And here we go again, with yet another fringed bag. Meet the Motif 56 woven Josie Bag!
Now this piece is not your run-of-the-mill fringed handbag. In fact, it is a little on the unusual side. Thin strips of leather start at the top of the bag. As they work their way down, they are woven together in a very intricate design. It is almost basket weave in appearance, with an open hexagonal pattern. Half way down the bag, the weave comes to an end and the loose ends of the leather strips are allowed to dangle down freely. Interestingly, unlike many of the other fringed handbags out there, the leather on this bag is semi-glossy. The result is an unexpectedly structured look. What a wonderful and unique take on the fringed handbag trend!
