Cheap Chic: Lily Cole with her Anya Hindmarch Environmental Bag
Green is the new Black! Lily Cole has a cheap bag and is proud of it. The stunning supermodel has been spotted all over town with her hot new Eco Friendly Anya Hindmarch Shopping Tote, that retails for (*drum roll*) under $10.
So far the response to this bag has been a huge success. Due to overwhelming demand, the preorder allocation has now been reached. But don’t worry, there will be more bags available to preorder when March rolls around. Soon after, this bag will also be available to buy at the UK Anya Hindmarch stores, Dover Street Market in London, Colette in Paris and Villa Moda in Kuwait. Then on April 25th this bag will be available at Sainsbury’s 200 stores nationwide.

Cheap Chic: Lily Cole with her Anya Hindmarch Environmental Bag
Just Say No To Plastic Bags! Every person in this country uses, on average, 167 plastic bags a year: that’s approximately ten billion bags. This is unsustainable. While plastic bags will take up to 500 years to degrade, your $10 all cotton and recycled plastic bag is durability itself and will withstand the wear, tear and the covetous looks of fellow consumers for years to come. The eco-friendly shopper lets you divert plastic from the landfill in style. Join in on the trend. Keep checking back with AnyaHindmarch.com to get your hands on this bag.
Update: Are you kidding me…. Someone is selling one on eBay for $204.16. Well, thats the current bid at this time. Yeah, uhm I think I will wait a month.

The limited edition, Anya Hindmarch bag was launched at London Fashion Week, available in participating Sainsbury’s stores from April and online through the We Are What We Do shop as part of an exclusive pack with the original inspiration for the bag, Change the World for a Fiver. (Retail price £10.) The designer bag will cost £5 and – in now inimitable We Are What We Do fashion, why not go to our shop now and leave your email address and we will let you know as soon as they arrive – no one involved in the project will make any profit from the sale of the product.
The ‘I’m Not A Plastic Bag’ shopper is designed to put the ‘productivity’ firmly back into the product and we hope that it will be the first of many such items enabling us to make small changes, and big differences. Woah that bag only costs $10? I remember seeing that photo of lily a while back on style.com but had no idea who it was by. Now I really want one, and hey it goes towards a good cause which is a huge plus!
Why are these bags so cheap? I can see it now, the preorder is going to fill back up again and these bags are going to sell out at all locations. I guess my best chance of getting one is on ebay.
Great idea however, I honestly don’t think that many people will switch to carrying this tote instead of plastic bags. I mean think, if you like out of the city in a rural area chances are you will make grocery trips not as frequently and you buy in bulk. For those type of shoppers , totally switch to PAPER BAGS. But for city guys (and gals) who go to the nearby grocer then this would be a good idea.
It is indeed really cute!
I can not believe that bag on ebay is up to $219.87 right now. Thats just ridiculous. I feel for the winner.
OMG! IT SOLD FOR $333.42!!!!!!
I hope that buyer knows… she could have purchased 33 of those bags for that price :O
good that everythings eco now, just slightly annoying that people are only buying this bag for fashion, not for the purpose it was made for – to put all your shopping into it. But i suppose its for a good cause.
A much better alternative and a company not just in it for the profits is Earth Tote Bags – http://www.earthtotebags.com.au
We donate AUD$1.50 from each sale to Nguna Pele Marine Protected Area who work on the conservation of Sea Turtles, an animal that has the unfortunate habit of swallowing plastic bags (mistaken for jelly fish).
From 15 April Bags of Change will be selling a really stylish hemp-cotton tote bag which rewards you for shopping ethically and locally. Sign up now for a sneak preview http://www.bagsofchange.com
