Song Hye Kyo and the Celine “Miss Song Limited Edition Bag
A couple days ago an event was thrown at a Haute Couture fashion show in Hong Kong in honor of the recent release of the Celine “Miss Song bag named after South Korean actress Song Hye Kyo.

Celine’s artistic director, Ivana Omazic on the collaboration: “Having traveled extensively throughout Asia, I have found that Asian women have become more active and have obtained more freedom in modern society. Today, I am delighted to have worked closely with Song Hye Kyo for this new creation and to be a part of an innovative project that opens up our company onto the world. I sincerely believe this bag represents the new voice of Asian women.

The bag, which looks quite similar to Celine’s Bittersweet purse is going to be produced in limited quantities and expected to hit store shelves in Asia when fall rolls around. The limited-edition “Miss Song Bag” retails for about $4000.

All money generated from selling the bags will be donated to Song Hye Kyo charity organizations.

Last Call Sale is almost over at Neiman Marcus! So get some gorgeous bags while they’e still in stock. Here are a couple of my favorite Celine bags marked down.

Celine | Dorine | On Sale $763 (orig $1,525)| View!
This Celine Dorine is only left in ivory calfskin! This bag also came in a gorgeous dark brown, but sadly Neiman Marcus sold out of that color. The long shape of this bag is a little different from any of the bags that I have – measurements of this bag are 8″ height x 16 1/2″ width x 7″ depth. I like it.

Celine | Large Hobo | On Sale $495 (orig $990)| View!
This large slouchy Celine hobo is 50% off the original price! Usually I’m not a fan of red bags, but it’s just something about this color that draws me in. It’s the right shade of red – the color is lipstick.

Celine Clandestine bag
Did you know that the Celine emblem was created in 1971 by Mme. Vipiana, and was inspired by the chain design around the Arc de Triomphe a classic Parisian symbol. I just read that off the Celine site – you learn something everyday.

Mid-day Post: I wish I could walk through those doors to check out the latest Celine glam-bags. But no, I am stuck inside preparing for a presentation I have to give tomorrow (yea I know, who takes Saturday classes?), not only that but the nearest Celine Boutique is in Vegas. Ooh the unfortunate situation of a Seattle Celine fashion-lover. Thank goodness for online shops that carry Celine, like eLUXURY and Bloomingdales!

About Designer Celine

August 1, 2005

Celine
The French luxury house was launched in 1945 by Celine Viplana, and was originally a made-to-measure children’s shoe business that grew into women’s shoes and accessories. Ready-to-wear debuted in the 1960s, when Viplana designed a line of “couture sportswear” or “fashion for everyone.”

The Look is high-end sporty looks, clean and wearable separates, such as swinging skirts, fitted shirts, and soft knits. The accessories-belts, boots, shoes, and bags-have a distinct sexy, city girl appeal.

Michael Kors helmed the label successfully for seven years until 2004, when the reigns were passed to Italian designer Roberto Menichetti. After a disappointing one-year collaboration, LVMH looked in-house to find a replacement and hired Ivana Omazic, a former consultant for the brand. Croatian Omazic had previously worked with Romeo Gigli, Prada, Jil Sander, and Miu Miu.

Worn by Globe-trotting gals with a taste for classics and clean lines, including Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Renee Russo, and Lucy Liu.
