Ask any bagista: What is the most practical handbag color? Nine times out of ten you will hear the answer: Black. Okay, so I probably just made that up. But it is true that many of you ladies out there see black as a very practical color. It is classic and it compliments just about anything (color-wise). It is no wonder so many bagistas choose black when seeking out a handbag wardrobe staple. Oddly enough, I don’t seem to follow this line of thinking myself when choosing a handbag. Black is fine, I suppose. But I think other colors are equally worthy of being called “practical”. Brown is very versatile, for example. Red is also a wonderful color that compliments many things. There is a new trend brewing though. Dark grey is becoming the new black. It is neutral, yet it is different enough to make everyone you pass walking down the street give your handbag a second glance! Below are some great examples of this new trend!

Obsessed: See by Chloe Harriet Duffel Bag
This Harriet duffel is one of the cutest petite duffels I’ve seen in a while. It’s amazing. Clean lines, beautiful color combination of soft pink and gold hardware – a great pick for the warmer months.
Design-wise this bag is very spacious, so no problems there. Also what’s interesting to me is how this bag opens at the top. Features a dual zipper (like a dog carrier), which I guess is kinda cool considering it wont be too difficult to find what you’re looking for at the bottom of your bag.

This event is happening right now over at ideeli and let me tell you, the bags at this sale are going fast. Within an hour of this sale beginning a handful of the bags sold out. Quantities are limited.
Here are only a couple of my favorite picks from the sale:

I’m usually a black and white kind of gal. Most of my wardrobe and practically everything I own is black and white. Black and white exudes elegance to me and I think the two colors compliment each other well. However, I’ve noticed that I’ve been liking a lot of light colors lately especially light pink, beige and cream. All of those colors go amazing with black or white so I guess it’s safe to say that I’m adding some color into my life.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Chloe, especially the See by Chloe line. Mostly because Chloe has always been on the pricey side and the See by Chloe line is a tad bit more affordable. OK, it’s a lot more affordable. I’ve also always been a fan of Hello Kitty. Not an overzealous fan that buys tons of Hello Kitty merchandise but I’ve always thought she was cute. It’s fun to go to the Flag Ship store in New York, to see the higher end Hello Kitty goodies.
I bring this all up because when I saw the See by Chloe “Rodas” Sequin Party Bag I couldn’t help but think of Hello Kitty. It literally looks like something the kitty designed or would use as a handbag. The big bow, screams Hello Kitty!

Unfortunately, there are no enforced regulations on the amount of puff you can add to a handbag. Some fur pieces are absolutely striking and attractive, and then you have the ones that seem to be made out of the excess pelts from the good-looking ones. I always envisioned the brand of See by Chloe as the rebellious little sister of the French couture name of Chloe.

My first “designer” bag was a Louis Vuitton Speedy style and I loved that bag till it’s death, but ironically have never owned one since. That will have to change soon as I am recently drawn to this style again. Perhaps because there are so many designers making them right now. While there are some great ones, The Chloe Aurora Duffel Bag has my attention at the moment.

I am normally a fan of Reese Witherspoon’s style. Her everyday look is casual and care-free, sometimes with a little bit of boho mixed in. When I saw this photo, however, I was taken aback just a little bit. I suppose the blue and white woven top isn’t so bad by itself. It is those white jeans that are throwing me off. The outfit looks too matchy-matchy, as if the pieces came together as a set. But I suppose I can forgive her. After all, her taste in handbags appears to be completely unaffected. Check out that gorgeous bag on her arm! It is the Chloe Marcie Hobo!

I may be turning into a classy fashionista but I will always have a soft spot for edgy fashion. The whole rocker chick look is so trendy and fashionable looking. Wearing leggings, a hot top, fierce heels and a gorgeous black leather bag with gold hardware will always be my outfit of choice. Of course though, as you grow older you have to step up your fashion game a notch and dress appropriate to your age. Classy it is, but sometimes I will rock my edgy look.
