Handbag Stories: my bag sighting of the week.

The cross body style trend is so huge for summer, but there is a con to this style that you need to be aware of.

Earlier this week I witnessed one of the biggest wardrobe malfunction bloopers that could happen. True story..

Imagine this: If you’re familiar with Downtown Seattle then you’re going to know exactly where I’m talking about. I was sitting in my car in downtown, on a somewhat busy 4-way street around lunch hour, inbetween Nordstrom and Barney’s. The light just turned red and the crosswalk signs lit up. I came to a stop, and the sheep herd crowd stepped onto the crosswalk. I was front of the line at this point, just sitting there listening to my music as I waited for the light to turn green. When all of a sudden, a girl walked right in front of me with her dress bunched-up, revealing her bottom. Just like in that Tampax commercial! Only from what I could tell in that 10 seconds she was in my sight, nobody said anything.

The culprit: her bag! The length of her bag was so long that the body of her bag rested on her hip, causing it to bunch up. Which should serve as in important caution about cross body bags and if you’re wearing a skirt – the bag doesn’t need to reach down to your bum.

I feel for this girl. I could just image this, with a crowd of people all staring and laughing and nobody saying anything.

So…did you lean out your window and tell her!?

If there was a chance that she could hear me. It’s your average City intersection – horns, people yelling, etc. Also I don’t know about other city dwellers, but once you live in the city for more than a handful of years, you just start to ignore all that noise.

Or see me. There are 3 lanes, I was in the far left, she was crossing from the right to my side..by the time she was in front of my car it was way too late. It’s a high-traffic intersection crosswalk – crowd of 30+ from each side crossing paths. She was in my sight for only 4 seconds max.

If I was behind her at that cross-walk or saw her on the street, I would have of course said something.

I would be mortified! Especially if she was on her way to work or something and nobody said anything.

That happened to me once. But it wasn’t that bunched up.. but it was definitely riding up! Should keep contents light! And the bag shouldn’t go down past your butt, lol.

That’s horrible! I would hope that somebody told me. I never thought of anything like that happening.

No matter what —– SKIRTS + CROSSBODY BAGS are a BAD Combination!
