There should not be any need for this because people should only buy their bags from the boutiques or from someone they KNOW personally and KNOW has authentic bags. In particular I have absolutely no sympathy for those who get scammed while buying birkins on ebay or through other online marketplaces. When you spend that much money, you need to go to Hermes and make sure that your bag is authentic. That saying that you get what you pay for is VERY true. And when people try to spend $5,000 on a bag on ebay that normally retails in the store for over $8,000, they should expect to get a fake. Someone who owns a real birkin would not sell it for a bargain basement price because they know it would command much, much more.

Buyer beware on Ebay when purchasing a Birkin. I paid $2,800 for I thought was a used one- Fake as .......
That was my 1st purchase on ebay, now your protected with fraud, not years ago.
Since then I went mad and bought 2 very real bags from the Atlanta store and love every bit the debt I'm in using them everyday. Love them. My family will use a bag to store my ashes when I'm cremated in a Birkin.
FYI I bought mine for $6,300 and $6,700 dollars. Just checked last week at the store same 35mm is now $10,800
Or close to that without tax. They have gone a bit crazy but I'm still in love.
FYI bought a Kelly Taupe also from the store. For 6,000 plus. Never used once. It's a pain to get into. Has to be closed to work where the Birkin is left open with ties hanging.
So if a credit card has the limit , girlfriend go for it. The bags will continue to go up in price. In 3 years a $4,000 increase is tremendous. You only live once. And you know it's real, that's all that counts.

I dream of owning a birkin some day. I'll probably go the ebay route like most people, just because of the deals and I don't mind having a bag that's a couple seasons old, or vintage. So every bit of info helps! Thanks!
