Hot off the presses, the Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 Collection is now available for pre-order at Nordstrom (.com). Among the new arrivals you’ll find the bag I have featured here. It’s called the Marc Jacobs Safety Pin Stam Satchel. We’re all familiar with the Stam, but it appears as though Marc has chosen a rather unusual adornment for this particular version — two extra large safety pins. Leave it to good ol’ Marc to give us all a good chuckle! He has this way of taking something so ordinary and turning it into something extraordinary. Yes, it’s wacky and eccentric. But what can I say? Marc is a wacky and eccentric sorta guy (in a good way, of course!). And I can’t help but love him and his designs regardless. I’m always excited to see his new collections season after season, anxiously waiting to see what he’ll come up with next.
The Marc Jacobs Safety Pin Stam Satchel is available in Cobalt Blue (shown) or Black. The bag features an updated smooth texture and contrast trim. It measures 15″ x 9.5″ x 7″ and it retails for $1,395. Find it at Nordstrom. There you will also find this bag’s little sister, the Marc Jacobs Safety Pin Clutch.
