The New It Color: Cobalt Blue

Spring 2009 is just around the corner! It won’t be long now before all the new handbags for Spring will be hitting the store shelves. It seems that a lot of trends from Fall 2008 will be carrying over into the new year. As I have been browsing around, however, it appears that a new color may be rising to the top of everyone’s want lists very soon. I just have two words for all you bagistas out there: Cobalt Blue. It has been sprouting up within the collections of several designers lately. And the girls over at TBF? Well, quite frankly, some of them are just plain batty for this color. Could Cobalt Blue be our next Dark Purple? Only time will tell! If you ask me though, this color definitely has the potential to become something BIG. And why not? It is absolutely gorgeous! Here are a few bags I found that are currently available in this vibrant shade of blue:
Rebecca Minkoff Nikki Hobo
Rebecca Minkoff Nikki – $600

I LOVE THIS COLOR! AND I REALLY WANT THAT NIKKI.

  2. w*12 says:

I was wondering, is that picture above of the Nikki or mini Nikki?

Is the mini too small to wear over your shoulder?

  3. BRS says:

w*12, it is a picture of the regular Nikki.

  4. Rachel Tanner says:

W12, that’s the regular sized nikki.

The mini, imo is way too small to wear over your shoulder. It’s more of an arm bag.

  5. Adair *_* says:

That’s actually 1 MJ bag I wont buy. The straps are so thin that it looks uncomfortable to carry over the shoulder. Well that’s if you were to use this as a work bag, and fill it up.

  6. Rose Turk says:

I love the color of that Nancy Gonzalez bag. Yummy!

  7. MizzJ says:

Hmm I’d have to see this in person. The pictures make the
color look a tad washed out, but I’m hoping this is a much more
    rich jewel tone in reality.

  8. McQ 01 says:

Chic bags are meant to turn heads..

    Great post!!

  14. neon? says:

What about the neon trend? I noticed a lot of designers are sticking with that for summer. Like 80’s neon.

  15. Jessica says:

    Love Love Love the color!!
I am a fan of that Nikki but if your a a fan of the MK,
I would much rather prefer Lockheart’s Michelle Special Edition
thats coming out soon. Its a little bigger than the MK and
I agree Adair those straps are way too small, the Lockheart
bag has straps to accomodate for that cause they are all about
style + functionality, thats why they are one of my faves.

Cant wait to rock a blue bag!!

  16. alexis says:

Nay to the exotic. Poor animal.

  17. LAMB>? says:

  19. laura mc. says:

I agree with “neon?” I think that neon is going to be really hot.

  20. Lana K. says:

The Jen bags straps are too thin.

  21. Brandy says:

Why is Nancy Gonzalez so expensive? Does she even have a leather line?

  22. Mallrat says:

Great blog! I love the Nikki!!
