When it comes to formal wear, I really love scarf-like watercolor prints. They are so soft and feminine. They look wonderful on a long, flowing gown. The look was pretty popular there for awhile, but I think you can definitely still pull it off! I know, I know. There are still those occasions when a gorgeous and colorful number just isn’t appropriate. But not to worry, you can still have that watercolor look even if you’re wearing your favorite little black dress! Simply think outside the box a little… or more appropriately, think outside the box clutch a little! What I mean is that you can get your watercolor-fix in the form of a gorgeous accessory!
With the royal nuptials coming up so soon, I’m thinking about my favorite British designers. Matthew Williamson is on that list. He is a British designer who graduated from Central St. Martin with a BA in Fashion Design and printed textiles. He began his own fashion house in 1997 and at one point was the head of LVMH owned Emilio Pucci. A Williamson design will feature incredibly beautiful prints that convey luxe, luxe and more luxe. Walk into his boutique in the Meatpacking District of NYC and you will be compelled to reach out and touch his amazing fabrics used in beautiful designs. I dare you to try NOT to touch!
While Mr. Williamson does very few handbags, I truly love how they are an extension of his style. Too often a designer who excels in clothing ventures into handbags and there is no distinct correlation between the two. Not so with Matthew’s beauties!

Personally, I think this clutch is adorable. It is so bright and colorful, like a little treasure you can hold in your hand. Certainly not for everyday wear, of course. And certainly not for when you need to carry more than some cards, cash, keys, and perhaps some lip gloss. But I think this clutch would look simply stunning paired with a bright, solid colored dress (as seen in Net-a-Porter’s runway look). What better way to brighten up a room after dark? This beauty would certainly be at the center of everyone’s attention!
