Spiral Notebook Clutch: Alexander Wang, Moschino, Barneys
Everybody is doing their own avant garde interpretation of the classic spiral notebook clutch. First it was Alexander Wang with the leather bound Amber, then Moschino with the My Secret Diary inscribed notebook, then most recently Barneys New York came out with their own interpretation.
All the bags have that one feature in common, the spiral detail. But what’s so different about each design? There are a few difference which makes each bag their own…
My favorite of the bunch is the Alexander Wang Amber. It actually just came out in the gray and cream leather python-print (above). To me, between all the other versions this one most closely resembles a spiral notebook, and it’s pure fabulous. Available at nap for $625
Next up is the Moschino inscribed My Secret Diary. Not my favorite of the bunch, it just looks too plasticy for my taste. Also I’m not a big fan of the trompe l’oeil book design.
Unlike the other two versions, the Barneys Spiral Bound features double kisslock closures and opens like a coin purse. Also it’s much teenier than the other two. Measures 3.5″ x 5″ x 1.5″. Find it on the sale rack for $299 (reg $795)

My favorite is the Wang. The second one looks cheap and like it came from forever21
Wang was definitely the first tho think out the box on this one, with Moschino quickly following after then Barneys. To me, the BARNEYS one is the cutest!
I love the sprial look! My fav’s the Wang. You can’t go wrong.
I had no idea that so many designers out there were so inspired by the notebook design.
I really like that Barnys coinpurse. Kinda still expensive though. I’ll be watching for it to get marked down just a little bit more. :)
I wanted to get that Moschino one but looks like it sold out already.
I agree, the Wang clutch is better than the others. However, I do love the rosy color of the Barneys option.
