Alexander McQueen Faithful and the Satchel Trend

A favorite of Kate Hudson, it is most detailed bag of this group, this satchel has more of a biker edge to it with zippers galore, harness straps and ribbed stitching reminiscent of shoulder detailing we’ve seen on some motorcycle jackets. This bag packs features galore with loads of pockets for all of your needs. I’m loving this pretty pastel pink to offset the edge of the styling. Also available in tan and black with Medium (17” x 11” x 5”) and Small (14” x 9” x 4”) sizing available. The median priced bag of the group at $1175 – $1450.

When Proenza Schouler launched it’s PS1 line, it was an instant hit with sell-outs everywhere. It’s casual sophistication made it versatile and smart looking urban glamour. A sharp compliment to this seasons military styling. This season, the PS1 comes in a yummy raspberry leather for a pop of color if you choose. The satchel comes in Medium at (12” x 9” x 6”) and Large (14” x 9” x 6”) as well as black, camel and my coveted raspberry. $1595 to $1995.

Which brings me to the Mulberry’s Alexa bag. Another classic favorite in the satchel lineup. Shown in Oak buffalo leather, this satchel features some shine with a bit more hardware than the PS1. A little more uptown in styling, it’s still a major statement bag for preppy-girl cool. Featured in regular (12” x 9” x 6”) or oversized (14” x 13” x 5”) in camel and black. Slightly less expensive than the PS1 at $1150 to $1250.

All the bags pictured above are available at Net-a-Porter!

The Alexander McQueen Faithful is so crazy! I would love to have that beauty in my closet, along side the Proenza Schouler PS1. The only thing is though with the Faithful, is the color. I think the dusty rose color is very pretty, for right now. Come winter in a couple months, I wouldn’t touch it. I can’t stop looking at the picture. I love the detailing, the hardware, design, everything is just so ga-ga-gorgeous!

I agree. I think that the rose pink color is a hard one to pull off during autumn. Classic colors like shades of brown or black are seasonless.

I know, it’s a pretty fabulous. All the detailing is just in the right place. Not over done, and not too little. Although, I think the PS1 will last longer without hitting the sale section. And the mulberry, well that style has been around the longest. Just like how the other two designers’ bags look more.

The PS1 and Mulberry look too similar. I do love the idea though. Like a classic satchel. My favorite is the McQ, by far. I hope it hits the sale section soon. :)

The PS1 is the my favorite. There’s just something about the design that makes it look more classic-like than the other bags.

I am not a fan of any of them.
The Alexander McQueen has a a nice shape, but it’s way too busy. Love the tan.
Never understood why everyone fell in love with the PS1 and the Mulberry Alexa. They both look like books bags. And the PS1 is not flattering when you put your stuff in it.
