Artist Julie Verhoeven for Designer Mulberry Shopper Tote
Earlier this week Bag Bliss wrote a little snippet on the limited edition handbag collaboration project between artist Julie Verhoeven and fashion house Mulberry. That vibrant and colorful collection can now be found at the online fashion store net-a-porter. The only handbag that they have available at this time is the multicolored quilted fabric shopper.

The Limited Edition Julie Verhoeven for Mulberry Handbag
If you happened to check out the Mulberry site then you might have noticed there is a new collaboration project out and ready for the picking. Last season Mulberry worked with Giles Deacon for the limited edition punk chic handbag line, now for the fall-winter 2007 season Mulberry has teamed up with the illustrious illustrator Julie Vernhoeven to create a vibrant collection that will make people re-think the term “Classic British�.

“The Brief was to be both vibrant and bold and a little cheeky.. We worked around the traditional English rose icon with the thorny surprises – surrealist and nonsense elements thrown into the mix. English eccentricities and traditions gone a little askew, but with fondness and femininity.â€? – Julie Verhoeven on the Mulberry Handbag Collaboration.

Pictured above is one of the bags available in the collaboration project. It’s the super lightweight canvas tote with the Julie Verhoeven print on each side – a girl with rose red colored hair with a rose leaf in mouth and on the other side a grey and white print of a spoon with a rose bud. This handbag also features leather straps and an interior painted in hot bright purple. Discover it at mulberry where it retails for around $300.

Fergie Style: Mulberry for Giles Mace Keyring
Spotted: Stacy “Fergieâ€? Ferguson was spotted by the paparazzi yesterday on the streets of Hollywood while out-and-about stopping at all the hotspot boutiques with her purse that doubles as a punk-chic weapon – the medieval looking spiky Mulberry for Giles collaboration designer Mace keyring.

The ten piece accessory and handbag line collaboration between Mulberry and Giles took place a few months back and so far I haven’t really seen anyone sporting a purse or accessory from this collection, with the exception of the ferg.

Forever21 Does the Mulberry Emmy Handbag
Uh-hu. Looks like Forever21 is back to their old ways, by producing lines of clothing and handbags that obviously share strong similarities and characteristics. Same exterior and interior pockets and zippers, post-man style lock detailing, and all the little hardware features are identical.

Let’s compare some more shall we…

Giles and Mulberry Collaboration Designer Handbags

< Mulberry – one of my new fav’s > I don’t think anyone really knows how obsessed I am with Mulberry bags, especially the Piccadilly. One of the bags competing for the first place in my book is the Piccadilly Holdall – the shape, the color, the hardware – oh I adore! The Piccadilly on Mulberry.com is a handbag, a weekender for the traveling stylish man who doesn’t care too much for the trends but rather be seen with a timeless bag.

Imo, the Mulberry Piccadilly bag is not only a bag for the guys to enjoy, but can work for any fashionista or fashionister as a traveling or day bag (for those who carry everything essential to living within reach).

Mulberry | Elgin Tote | On Sale $696 (reg. $995) | View!
I rediscovered this Mulberry Eligin tote and this time it’s on the sale rack at Saks marked down $300. Hey, with that extra change why not throw in the new Louis Vuitton Monogram Groom Monnaie Rond. Good luck getting one through eluxury! Every time I go to the site it’s sold out before I can place my order (for the Bag Bliss bag blog 1 year anniversary, new baby bag forum still has 11 months to go). I have been refreshing the page all day, uhg.

So about this purse deal of the day – when this Mulberry Elgin brass buckle oak vegetable-tanned Darwin leather day bag Tote sells out at Saks you will get stuck with having to pay full price elsewhere. Well at least until the department stores get sick of the bags taking up the space on the shelves and clearance them off.

Mulberry | Patchwork Bayswater Handbag View!
For the Autumn 2006 season English luxury brand Mulberry decided to “re-interpret it’s British heritage for the modern day”. One of the bags from the collection is the popular Mulberry Bayswater handbag. For this season, the Rio Patchwork comes decorated with the Mulberry’s seasonal leaf motif in waves of coffee, tan and chestnut patchwork toned (sheepskin leather) hues. The bag has a flap closure secured behind the buckle, a signature Mulberry bush logo on plaque and signature gold padlock fastening hidden in pouch on handle.

In my opinion the Mulberry Bayswater is a fantastic bag for any fashionable person who likes to carry everything in their life within reach in their bag. The bag is roomy and has a classic image, a trend that will never dye off. I love the Mulberry Bayswater, however the design of this patchwork bag (even though to me it has Autumn written all over it) is just not my cup of tea. I would prefer one of the more classic colors such as in chocolate or black.

eBay Alert Well lookie what I found, the same Mulberry Rio Patchwork Bayswater (click to view) bag up on eBay for a buy it now price of only $881 – that’s a deal of $514 off retail! Lately (last month or so) you have probably been wondering what I am doing here at Bag Bliss the Bag Blog. I use to post daily designer deals everyday, celebrity Monday, Wednesday eBay designer items of the week, and Ugly Friday. Well I am still doing the eBay designer items every Wednesday, but I have slowed down on the Ugly Friday and daily designer deal (definitely need to pick it up on that one), and almost everyday I have been posting celebrities and their bags. I am still up in the air on if I should make Bag Bliss more of a Bag / Celebrity Blog. Opinions?

So back to the daily designer deal of the day – I am a new Mulberry fan. I never really took much notice to this designer’s collection, but while browsing around I came across this little adorable Mulberry Roxanne Key Ring Wallet at Net-A-Porter. The measurements of this little accessory are 3″ x 5″, just the right size to carry those few essentials.
