Erotokritos Picnic Tote
Launched in 1996, the Paris-based company Erotokritos is relatively new to the world of handbags. According to Shop Bop’s Designer Bio, the designer’s handbags were quick to gain popularity because they capture the essence of effortless Parisian style. Now I’m not sure if that is really true or not, but I can safely say that the Erotokritos Picnic Tote is indeed an example of effortless style. The overall shape and style of this bag are so simple. The casual pleating on the sides and the gently curved handles give a very soothing impression (think fluffy cloud). This bag seems like it would just disappear into the background. It is definitely not what I would call an “eye catcher”. I can’t really say that I like this bag, but I can’t say that I hate it either. Perhaps it is one of those things that you need to see in real life before you can make up your mind about it. What does everyone else think? Would you carry this bag?
The Erotokritos Picnic Tote is made in Italy. Slouchy, pebbled leather in a color called Grey Stone has been paired neatly with gold-tone hardware. It features rolled double handles as well as a convenient, detachable shoulder strap. The bag measures 13.5″ x 6″ x 4.5″ and the handles have a 6 inch drop.
It retails for $654 and you can find it over at shopbop.com.
