Foley + Corinna City VS Un Apres-Midi de Chien Post Q Tote

Foley + Corinna City VS Un Apres-Midi de Chien Post Q Tote
Who doesn’t love options? I was approached by a sales associate at my local Saks outlet and was asked if I had seen their latest arrival, the two-in-one handbag (she must have barely spotted them). I was familiar with the style since a couple of tBFers proudly own the famous City Tote by Foley + Corinna, but I hadn’t experienced what a great style it was in person.

Our friends at ShopBop and their wonderful sales have both the City Tote by Foley + Corinna and the Post Q Tote by Un Apres-Midi de Chien marked down in the sales section (only selected colors on the City Tote). This is just one of the many examples of designer inspirations and competition.

Foley + Corinna with its original design features a zipper up front when expanded and nice pebbled leather, while Apres-Midi’s version consists of bubbly nylon and faux patent leather trim. From pure description it’s quick to note that one style definitely differs in price wise than the other. Both feature double rolled handles, multiple pockets and the handy detachable shoulder straps. Since I’m not the greatest fan of nylon handbags, my vote goes to the original City Tote. Which is your pick?

Regardless, don’t deny the great sales going on right now over at: Shopbop

I’ve never been a big fan of Foley + Corinna, so I’m going to pass
on that one. I do like the style of the other one more though.
And the price is so much more reasonable — only like $100.
    Such a find!

I ordered the Foley and Corinna one a week back. Still haven’t
received it yet, but I’m anxiously waiting. I love the style.

Foley+Corinna leather bothers the crap out of me. I love the style
of the bags, but the leather scratches so easily.

Votes for the FC. Only because I hate quilting on bags.

I’m swaying both ways on this.

I like the tote to clutch idea. But neither of these are for me.
I much rather prefer Lanvins similar bag.

There was one season when everyone over at TheBagForum was obsessing
over the F+C bags. Kinda died down, understandably. These designers
never come out with any new ideas. It’s the same thing season after
    season.

I like the quilted one more. A great theme for the winter season.

I don’t think these bags are that similar. The concept is the same
but that’s about it. I’ve seen more identical bags from forever21.

Hi , I’m the designer at Un Apres Midi bags … just came accross your post today …uh, I know it’s kind of late but just for the record let me say that the Post style design of ours dates back from 2008 A/W collection and was inspired by a vintage leather handbag from the 70′s as far as the handles and placket are concerned.
I guess that F&C is much closer to the original vintage piece so I guess they must have had the same inspiration !!
