The talented face behind high-end designer labels Chanel and Fendi, Karl Lagerfeld, pictured above roaming the streets of Paris with his designer man clutch in hand, has been making headlines all over the fashion-sphere with news that he will be introducing a new handbag line. A line of purses designed for the bag enthusiast who doesn’t have $1,500 + for the latest Fendi or Chanel purse.
Teamed up with the same company that makes Calvin Klein’s accessories, the new label, Karl Lagerfeld SAS will feature everything from wallets to luggage dressed in quality leather and exotic skins while not going over the $1,000 price tag.
Mark your calendars ladies and gentlemen, this new label is set to launch this autumn 2008.

That seems a little steep – $1k? For a lesser brand.. I mean look at Marc Jacobs. He’s a genius by targeting all price ranges – Marc by Marc Jacobs, Marc Jacobs, and Louis Vuitton.

Are you guys crazy? Am I the only one who finds Karl Lagerfeld to be extremely boring. The man wears like the same thing everyday. He doesnt do anything for the house of chanel, all he does is slightly change something on the (old) chanel bag. and fendi, lately has not been very hot.

I love fendi bags, the old ones more. So, I wish it was less expensive too, cause I can’t afford a luxury handbag! I live in Peru and .. we have some stores (like one o two, hahaha) that sells this disigners handbags (limited) but if the price there in the US is like 1500, here they cost like 2000 – 2500. It’s crazy!!! =(
It should be interesting to see what he turns out. And why do I get the feeling that under $1000 for Lagerfeld may mean $990…? but then again he did a line for H&M.
