Net-A-Porter has added a new designer to their already awesome handbag section. Has anyone ever heard of Valextra? I certainly haven’t. But Net-A-Porter describes them as an Italian heritage brand that takes pride in their handmade luxury handbags. This is interesting to me because handbags that are handmade by artisans or craftsmen are harder and harder to come by. What I also find intriguing is the overall style of these handbags. The designs are very simple with clean lines and discrete labels. In my opinion, nothing is more sophisticated than an understated handbag. They act as a building block, rather than a centerpiece. This is important, especially if you’re looking for a wardrobe staple.
I definitely like what I have seen so far. One bag in particular has caught my eye though. That would be the Valextra B Cube Tote! The boxy shape immediately grabbed my attention. The design reminds me of a lot of things, but nothing more than Reed Krakoff. Does anyone else see it? This is such a great-looking tote! I love the structured shape and the belted detail near the top. The color that is currently available (yellow) is far from traditional. But yellow is definitely an “it” color right now, so don’t shy away from it! The shade is more pastel than neon, so you can still pull off a sophisticated look. Plus it would add a little color to a black or white outfit.
