Yves Saint Laurent Tanger Handbag Collection
I don’t know anybody who has ever disagreed with the statement, that the house of Yves Saint Laurent comes out with classic handbags. Styles that are so simple and clean, destined to last years without the fear of becoming dated. They’re the type of bags that years down the road, when your grandchildren are rummaging through your long forgotten about treasure trove of vintage purses, will still be in.

One of the latest new pieces by Yves Saint Laurent, is the Tanger. The Tanger isn’t your ordinary YSL handbag, as you might have noticed the intense gloss of the fabric. The Tanger line is made completely of Satin, for a more dressy look.

What’s great about this line, and I’m sure most will agree with me, is that it’s so much cheaper than the leather line. The Large Pouchette (8.5″ width x 4.5″ height x 1/2″ depth) retails for only $345 and the Large Tote (14″ width x 13″ height x 4″ depth ) retails for $645.

However, since this bag is made of satin, I’m sure it’s not going to be as durable as the daily leather version. Although, since the bags are made completely of satin, I doubt one would use this as an everyday bag. Semi-dressy, the glossy look would complement any evening look.

What do you ladies think of the satin Tanger?

The clutch is really cute, I like it. But the tote just looks too weird to me in the satin.

  2. Eun-Kyung says:

I like the price of these bags, but I would rather spend the extra $500 to get the leather style. To me, this doesn’t seem as durable.

  3. Kate says:

I also like the clutch better than the tote. Too much of a 70s vibe to it… which isn’t surprising for YSL, I guess.

  4. MizzJ says:

I like the tote! It looks classy and sophisticated, but it’s totally useless as an everyday bag, which a bag that size should be, since the satin would be ruined in a matter of days. The clutch is good value and so stylish though!

  5. Fiona H. says:

I could definitely see the clutch getting more use out of it than the tote. I can just imagine so many outfits to wear with it. The tote, not so many.

  6. Isis says:

Okay that tote is way hot.

  7. Kandi says:

The clutch is just to cute and stylish. Thanks for posting this.

  8. Miss Janice says:

I would wear a bag from this line. The tote is just so pretty, but I agree with you about the satin not lasting.

  9. Lesley says:

This line is very sophisticated, and not really suited for an everyday bag

  10. oreanna says:

For night life, definitely. I like the clutch, to me the tote just doesn’t look right. Sorta has a grandma look to it.

    I really like the tote.

  15. Jennifer says:

I would like the tote, if it were made of leather. I just can't see myself wearing an evening satin tote. Although the clutch is sure cute though..

  16. Jess says:

I'd like the tote in leather too. The satin makes it not for everyday...

  17. Jennifer says:

^ yeah, it makes it look really dressy. Like for those who can't let go of the "big bag trend", even for semi-dressy occasion.. lol.
