Zac Posen Handbags
Zac Posen is the prince of haute couture evening gowns. His gowns are made with the perfect material, detail, style, and precision. Zac Posen now also has a handbag line. Do you think his handbag line can live up to the expectations that we have of his evening gowns?

This first bag is the Zac Posen Attache Fifth Avenue Tote. This bag definitely screams Fifth Avenue. It is sleek and elegant in the black and white leather and croc and goldtone hardware. This bag is sophisticated, timeless, and chic. It is probably my favorite handbag from the most recent line. It retails at $1,800.00.

The second bag is the Zac Posen Pumpkin Drawstring Hobo. This bag consists of richly woven leather and soft pebbled leather side panels and tassel detail. This bag is roomy and stylish and is the perfect everyday bag. This bag retails at $1,995.00.

The third bag is the Zac Posen Bo Mixed Leather Bag. This bright yellow bag features a mix of pebbled, patent, and smooth leather. This bag is very versatile because it is so structured an basic while still so funky and stylish in this bright mustard yellow. This bag can now be found on sale for $836.50.

Zac Posen Madison Bag
I never really paid much attention to Zac Posen handbags in the past. They never called to me saying “Look at what a delicious bag I am! Buy me! Take me home!” Nope, not once have I been drawn to a Zac Posen handbag.

So what makes this Madison Bag different? Well, nothing really. But I was browsing around over at Shop Bop today and noticed that they have a section labeled “Designer Boutique”. I guess I never really noticed it before. But then again, I’m typically just there to look at Marc By Marc Jacobs and Rebecca Minkoff handbags.

So anyway, I decided to check out the “Designer Boutique” section there at Shop Bop. And what do you know? They have Zac Posen handbags there. This particular one, called the Madison Bag, caught my eye for one reason only. Yep, this bag kind of reminds me of a Chanel Classic Flap! LOL! However, I’m not really sure whether that is a good thing or a bad thing. I mean, why would Zac Posen want to come out with a bag that is so similar (shape and style wise) to such a huge fashion icon? Okay, so it doesn’t look exactly like a Chanel bag… but it is similar in size and shape. Plus it has a flap and a double chain strap.

Interestingly though, the Madison Bag does have some of its own unique features. For example, the bag opens up like an accordion-style portfolio. It also has a lock closure complete with its own little key. Those features are pretty cool. But I’m not really digging the embossed pattern. Why couldn’t they have just done a plain exterior? It would have looked so much more sophisticated!

Zac Posen Rose Clutch
Head on over to the Zac Posen section over at eLuxury (dot com), they just got in some new items. While I was browsing the Posen newbie’s, I noticed this clutch. Where shall I begin? First of all, I want to address the fact that the name of this piece doesn’t match the clutches features at all. This Posen piece is named the Rose Clutch. Hmm… an accessory with a name like ‘Rose Clutch’ should appear a bit more feminine, don’t you all think? I don’t know how you bagistas feel about this accessory, but personally, this particular piece reminds me of a Transformer of some sort. It must be all those geometric shape features and its sharp edgings; and the new “Z� logo (found right in the middle of the bag) isn’t so appealing to me, either. Although I feel that this bag is a bit too complex for my taste, I can name a couple of great features found on this Posen, too. Zac Posen dresses many of its bags in great leather, and this clutches grained nappa leather seems incredibly smooth. I admire its grey suede lining as well, and the clutches flat base is also a plus in my book! The ‘Rose Clutch’ definitely sports a distinctive but cool design. So, what do you ladies think? Purse Trend: Black with a touch of Gold
Have you gone purse shopping lately and noticed the increased number of black and gold bags? They’re everywhere. From online to instore, this trend is all over the place for this up-and-coming fall season.

Personally, I’m more of a black and platinum/silver type of girl, so I doubt I would rock one of these bags. Well except for the Chloe Gold Bow Clutch. That one is just simply adorable.
