Introducing Dooney & Bourke Plaid and Patched Plaid Collections
More plaid coming your way from the teen-targeted brand Dooney & Bourke. Within the last month or so DB added two new collections to their family, the Plaid and the Patched Plaid.

The plaid line comes in the (boring-)beige colored plaid print but is available in multiple leather trim colors to choose from (black, rouge, saddle, dark chocolate, brown, or ivy). On the other hand, there is the multicolored plaid print pieces patched together for the other new line.

Like most other DB bags, the price range falls anywhere from $45 for the Flap Wristlet and on up to $300 for the Domed Satchel.

Harajuku Lovers VS Dooney’s Candy

Harajuku Lovers VS Dooney’s Candy
Both bags named “Candy? are dressed in a suit of taste-y candy. But who does it best? Which would you wear? The eye-catching Dooney and Bourke candy tassel handbag or the Harajuku Lovers Candy (even though there isn’t really any candy – more of sweets) tote?

Personally my vote is for the Harajuku Lovers Candy tote. It’s more casual and comfortable to carry as a on-the-go day bag. I can totally see myself using it as a beach bag or in replace of my market tote which I have been using a lot lately in replace of using plastic bags. The Dooney bag is unique (not favored in the Bag Forum) but there is just too much going on. The design is cluttered. The Dooney bag is like a candy bin and the Harjuku is like a handful of your favorite sweets.

What do you guys think? Dooney or the Harajuku Lovers??

Dooney’s Sausage: The New Emma Roberts Bag

Dooney’s Sausage: The New Emma Roberts Bag
So about that Emma Roberts Dooney Bag… some of you may have seen the Extra video staring Emma Roberts about her bag that “she designed for Dooney and Bourke. How quickly we all forgot the original Emma Bag that she had a part in designing. I’m not saying that she did or didn’t help out in designing this second version, but I am saying that her first kick at it sucked, big time. And yes I’m sure the designer’s over at the D and B headquarters realized it and pushed for this newer (I guess) improved design. Do I like the new Emma Bag?? Well, it sure is a lot more nicer looking. But I’m still going to have to go with a nay on my side. It looks like a sausage wiener from the side!!

Details on the improved Emma Roberts Bag: The new and improved sausage-looking bag is made of buttery soft glove leather, with bridle leather trim and solid brass hardware. Available in two sizes – The small size measures 11″ length x 4″ width x 4.5″ height and retails for $210. The larger size measures 15″ length x 4.5″ width x 4″ height and retails for $235. And is available in eleven colors, from basic black and brown to red, white, and marine blue.

Designer Dooney & Bourke Canvas Carryall Bag

June 8, 2007

Designer Dooney & Bourke Canvas Carryall Handbag
Back to basics, Dooney & Bourke traded in the cartoon drawings and signature prints for the classic canvas carryall handbag line. The unstructured travel bags are dressed in canvas (either blue, red, tan, or yellow) with white handles and detachable shoulder strap.

What I love most about the Dooney & Bourke Canvas Carryall Handbag is that you are getting designer quality without the designer logo plastered all over it’s body.

Price: Up to $300

New Purse Alert: Dooney & Bourke Donegal Handbags

New Purse Alert: Dooney & Bourke Donegal Handbags
The Donegal handbag line is one of the newbies from the DB giant brand house. Actually it was released around the same time as the Jumbo Collection made its debut. But unlike the Jumbo collection, this one does not rank very highly in my mind.

The saddle bag pouch motif image design is boring and the hobo style is nothing new to the brand, it’s one that they use over-and-over every season only with a new dress. I do admit though, the sac shape is pretty comfortable and rests well on the shoulder, but besides that this bag really has nothing to offer – style-wise.

Hot Newbie Purse Alert: The Dooney & Bourke Jumbo Handbags

Dear 20+ year olds – Finally DB has heard your call to put a hold on producing teen-targeted kiddy bags that feature cartoon drawings (for this line that is).

It seems like nowadays whenever Dooney & Bourke releases a new line it’s either a hit or a miss with me. It wasn’t too distant in the past that DB shocked all of their beloved (20+) fans with the introduction of the cartoon Bumble Bee Line, the sausage looking Emma Robert Bag, the cluttered Candy Handbag Line, the western Safari Purses, the painted fur Zebra collection, oh and not to forget the ice cream Ice Pop Line. I don’t know about you guys, but a couple of those lines (erm, most of those) I would not stroll down the street with even if you gave me a new purse.

So all cartoon images aside, DB listened and made this new designer purse line for you. Featuring the Jumbo signature on the canvas body, this bag is offered in the color black, blue jean, ivory, or light red. The Dooney & Bourke Jumbo Handbags are available in three sizes – Small (11.25″length x 4″width x 8.75″height) retails for $235, Medium (14.25″length x 5″width x 11.5″height) retails for $265, and the Large (16.75″length x 6.25″width x 12.5″height).

Let me here your opinions? Hit or Miss? What do you guys think of the new tamed down design for the new Jumbo Logo Dooney Bag?

3 Designer Day Wristlet Clutches Under $130

3 Designer Day Wristlet Clutches Under $130
The three designer daytime wristlets that retail for under $130 are all from designers known for their entry-level inexpensive prices for their bags.

> Marc by Marc Jacobs Tinted Core Denim Wristlet is number one for my pick of a designer day clutch that retails for under $130. Scrambled with Marc Jacobs name on the bleached blue denim fabric, trimmed with deep blue pebble-grained leather trim, accessorized aged silver metal hardware and topped off with the tromp l’oeil logo-engraved twist-lock closure on front. Measurements of this blue denim favorite are about 9″ x 5″ x 0.75″. Discover it at eluxury where it holds a $128 price tag.

> Coach Legacy Leather Wristlet is the second choice for under $130. It’s designed with a logo-less vintage leather fabric and a 12″ strap with clip for attaching to the inside of a larger bag, or to form a wrist strap. This purse also features a front flap with turn lock closure for extra security that pops open to reveal a rainbow striped lining – signature to the Legacy family line. Measurements of this Legacy wristlet are approximately 7â€? x 4â€?. View this purse at Coach where it retails for $98

> Dooney & Bourke “Mini Bubbles” Flap Wristlet is the cheapest of them all. It comes in soft pastel spring colors with bold mini bubbles speckled all around on the canvas body. This little bubble-y favorite also features a detachable strap – for those days you just feel like going strapless. Measurements of this Mini Bubbles wristlet are 4″ x 6″ x .5″. Spot it today at Macy where it retails for only $45

There you have it. Those are my picks for the top three designer wristlets under $130. Of course there are dozens of other smaller, lesser known designers that have clutches and purses that retail in this range. So don’t panic if you don’t like any of the above :) Good luck on your hunt for the perfect daytime wristlet.

Someone Told Her That Her Design Was Ugly
Uh-hu… Looks like somebody over at Dooney & Bourke told little miss Emma Roberts that her original Emma Handbag was ugly.

Actually it looks like they made a line (called Madras) out of her patchwork idea then tossed out the rest of the bag and started over from scratch. The new and improved sausage-looking bag is made of buttery soft glove leather, with bridle leather trim and solid brass hardware. It comes in two sizes and ten colors, from basic black and brown to red, white, and marine blue.

The new and improved Emma Handbag line will soon be at Dooney.com.
