Has anyone ever heard of Primary New York? I never have, but I stumbled upon the brand today and thought it was worth a closer look. They are pretty new to the handbag world. Designer Cleo Schroeder is the name behind the brand. She is originally from Vancouver, British Columbia and she began her career in costume design. In 2007, she decided to attend Parsons School of Design in New York. This is where she stayed and launched her first collection under the Primary name in 2011. It isn’t clear whether the first collection included handbags or if those were added later. What is clear is her love for simplicity and high contrast in her designs. That is what caught my eye when I saw the Primary New York Color Block Python Clutch!

Seriously who knew that combining 3 different, so opposite trends could look so good on one bag. Combining together exotic snakeskin, a geometric print and shimmery metallic tones; a unique vision by French bag-genius designer Pierre Hardy.

Next month the sweet boyfriend and I will be on our way to the warm tropical beaches of Mexico for our yearly vacation. When it comes to traveling out of the country I usually keep it pretty basic, leaving the Louis Vuitton keepall‘s at home. To me the traveling experience of going internationally (south of the boarder) is much different than traveling domestically for many reasons – Not so much traveling to Mexico, but on the way home I feel like they check your bags every 10 minutes, plus (I know this may sound a little snobby of me) I don’t like it when people with dirty oily hands touch my new-ish, un-aged, still light Louis Vuitton leather. Plus there’s always the fear of a completely booked plane and the chance than my bag will be randomly selected to be placed with the checked luggage or stuffed in one of the overly crowded compartments and someones soda bottle exploding (never happened to me before but I’ve seen this happen). So for those reasons alone, I reserve my Louis Vuitton luggage for domestic travels, first class flights or road trips.

I have a major crush on Givenchy lately. A lot of their recent pieces for the Spring 2013 season have been such a hit for me, styles and colors that I would love to add to my handbag collection (Lucrezia or Micro Nightingale anyone?). One of their recent handheld styles that caught my attention is the Givenchy Croc Stamped Clutch. Not only because of it’s on-the-go style, awesome croc-embossed pattern and a size that’s spacious enough for your daily essentials, but the price tag is ridiculously low for a Givenchy Clutch! $354!!

I’m not fond of crocodile accessories. To me, they’re not pretty, it’s not my thing but that’s just me. I currently do not own anything that is made of crocodile but who knows maybe one day that will change. I had a little but of a change of heart when I saw the Nancy Gonzalez “Cutout Overlay” Crocodile Tote. It doesn’t look like it’s totally crocodile, even though it is, and the asymmetrical design on the front of the bag is kind of cool looking! Nancy Gonzalez is the best designer, in my eyes, when it comes to crocodile accessories. No one quite does it like she does but of course that’s just my opinion.

Whether you didn’t get that bag you had been dreaming of for Christmas or you just feel like spoiling yourself with a post-Holiday gift, then you’re not going to want to miss out on what I’m about to tell you. Today and throughout the weekend there are amazing online sample sales going on.. of course the sooner that you get there the best selection there will be. The hottest always sellout within minutes of the doors opening or sit in someones cart for what seems like hours.
Good luck!

About a month ago I bought my very first casual looking clutch. It’s by Michael Kors, it’s gold with black hardware and it has a gold chain for a shoulder strap. It’s pretty fabulous. During the day I use it as a clutch and at night I take out the chain and use it as a shoulder bag. I’ve always been a fan of clutches, I prefer them over anytime of handbag, but when they come with a shoulder strap I’m an instant fan.
Michael Kors always has pretty stunning clutches and the “Lock Clutch” is gorgeous. This clutch is under the Michael Kors collection so the beauty and high price come as no surprise. I’m usually not a fan of ostrich-embossed leather but it looks amazing on this clutch. The ostrich-embossed leather looks beautiful in persimmon and it makes this bag look drop dead gorgeous! The bag is so elegant that it looks great as a clutch or shoulder bag!

For this Fall and upcoming Winter season, we’re seeing two of my favorite colors everywhere. No matter what store I go into during this holiday season the colors pink and mint are everywhere. Being that they are two of my favorite colors, I don’t mind it one bit! Fall and Winter usually bring us lots of dark colors in the fashion world so it’s refreshing to see a bright change. The best part about having light colors around during these typically dark season, is that when Spring and Summer roll around we can continue to use our colorful accessories and wardrobe.

Every fall/winter season is the same old story. There are your trends, of course. Deep jewel-like colors, sequins, fur, etc… etc. But there is one trend for this time of year that stands out from all the rest. I’m talking about animal prints! Leopard, cheetah, tiger, and zebra are your usual suspects… although I have seen some less common prints like giraffe. I don’t know about you, but when it comes to animal prints I tend to lean more toward spots rather than stripes. The problem with animal prints, however, is that they run the risk of looking gaudy. Definitely watch out for over-sized animal print accessories or even accessories with overly busy prints (like mixing more than one animal together). And don’t over accessorize with animal prints either! One piece is plenty! That is why I like the appearance of more animal print clutches this year. The prints are eye-catching, but the size is small. You really can’t go wrong! Plus they look great paired with your favorite little black dress. Check out these two styles I have pictured here! They are definitely my favorites so far!
