Okay, so it is the middle of summer. This really is not the time to be discussing fur handbags. Ugh, they make me feel hot just looking at them. But I stumbled across a handbag that had me doing a double take today. Scratch that… a triple take! You just don’t come across a handbag like this every day. After 17 years of working in the film industry, Claire Jane Vranian decided to redirect her creativity. In 2009, she launched her own handbag line called Inspired by Claire Jane. Making the switch from producing commercials and TV shows to designing handbags is certainly an interesting story. But I am finding myself more interested in the handbags themselves. This emerging designer is known for using feathers… lots of feathers. One piece that particularly caught my eye is the Inspired by Claire Jane Peacock Feather Clutch.

With so many zebras living in a single herd, it is hard to imagine how they can keep track of who is who. How does a baby zebra know who its mom is? Believe it or not, the mother zebra will actually block her new baby’s view of other zebras in the herd so the only thing it focuses in on is her. Each zebra has a unique stripe pattern, almost like fingerprints. The mother zebra’s pattern will become imprinted in the baby zebra’s mind. The baby zebra will then know who mom is, even amongst the chaos of a swirling herd. Pretty neat, huh? If only I could have a photographic memory like that! Perhaps if I feel like a zebra, some of their power will rub off on me. What better way to do that than by sporting a cool zebra print accessory? That’s why I’m loving the Gucci Zebra Craft Tote!
Clutches can be so much fun. You can be as wild and crazy or refined and sophisticated as you want. Simply switch them out to fit whatever the occasion happens to dictate! I suppose it is no wonder then that I write about a lot of clutches. The concept of the clutch is just so fascinating! You know what’s really exciting though? I feel like a lot of fashion is safari and wildlife inspired right now. There seems to be a lot of browns, tans and animals prints around at the moment. I’m not one to usually wear animals prints but I do love anything that looks like a zebra for obvious reasons. My favorite colors are black and white and there is no better animal than a zebra to sport these colors. Even when I stayed at the Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge in Orlando, I screamed every time I saw a zebra. They truly are beautiful animals and their stripes make them quite fashionable if I do say so myself!
As I’m getting ready to head out of the country (destination: Playa del Carmen!) the search is on for new travel gear, especially a passport cover. The one I use currently is a bright yellow one by Furla, but for some reason doesn’t really fit my passport. I know, it’s odd. It’s like I have to stuff it in. So it’s time to retire that one and search for a new. I’m not too picky when it comes to small accessories, except that it must be in some color-popping shade. I can’t help it, I love intense neons! So when I saw the neon Fluo Pink Emilio Pucci Python passport cover it was pretty much love at first sight.

Hello Spring! I am so glad you are here! But you know what, it doesn’t really feel like it’s Spring. I’m not talking about the unseasonably warm temperatures. In that regard, it definitely doesn’t feel like Spring. What I’m talking about is the colors that are out there. We have this color trend and that color trend, but what ever happened to pastels for Spring? You know, Easter egg colors! I’m sort of missing them.
