Foley + Corinna Stripley Mid City

I’ve always been a fan of the Foley + Corinna City tote. Even though each bag looks relatively the same, just made in different sizes, it’s still a fabulous bag. The versatility of the bag is probably the best part about it. Being able to carry a bag two different ways is always a plus in my book and makes it worth the money a little more.

The “Stripley” Mid City Tote caught my eye strictly because of the banding featured all over it. It gave the tote more of a “rocker” look, which I’m obsessed with. Not only does the banding give it that edgy look, but it can also pass as being asymmetrical, which we all know has been a huge trend this year.

Foley + Corinna Lucky Bunny

We have pretty much hit the season where fur textiles populate the handbag racks and the contemporary brand of Foley + Corinna isn’t lingering behind. The fur trend is somewhat new to the American brand, but F+C’s Bunny Luck Pouch is just making its debut. I think whether you’re a fan of fur or not, you’ll sway on the side that agrees that this is one unattractive fur bag. Sure it’s trendy and can be easily contributed to your winter wardrobe, but it’s not the most attractive piece out there. This is an obvious example of how attaching fur on a handbag doesn’t automatically make an accessory luxurious.

Foley + Corinna Bio

It was their mutual love for fashion that brought Dana Foley and Anna Corinna together. The two met at a flea market, where Dana was selling her own, original designs and Anna was selling vintage clothing. From there, a friendship was quickly formed and their company was soon born! Foley + Corinna is known for combining vintage and modern style in a way that seems almost effortless. Their styles are a perfect mix of sophistication, sexiness, and fun. Their most widely recognized style is the City Tote, which is now available in a variety of sizes (Mini, Mid, etc) and colors.

Foley + Corinna Fur Square Bag

This season, you’ll see the return of the Mongolian fur accessory, and we’re not talking about that iconic 70’s jacket you can find at your local thrift shop. Instead, you’ll find the puff-haired texture on one of Foley + Corinna’s latest, the Mongolian Lamb Small Square Bag.

If it weren’t for the brief description within the name, I would have never guessed the shape of this single strapped bag to be squared. When I think of a squared handbag, I think of a structured classy looking piece… not ‘Cousin It’. Peeking out from the massive layers of lamb wool is a representation of F+C’s soft-pebbled leather hobo bag, complete with a tassel pull, as if an extra dangling feature was really necessary on this one. Antiqued brass hardware compliments the vintage-full look of this bag, and don’t be fooled by the word ‘small’ on this piece, as you’re looking at a 12” x 14” puff bag, hanging off your shoulder.

Foley + Corinna Drawstring Hobo

I have always like Foley + Corinna handbags. But lately, I have been feeling kind of disappointed in their designs. I mean, come on! Metal mesh? Ick! In my opinion, the Foley + Corinna brand is at its best when they stick with a classic shape and a solid colored leather. It truly is the formula for perfection! That’s why I really like the Foley + Corinna Drawstring Pouch Hobo!

Designer Jucca copies Foley + Corinna’s classic Jet Setter Purse

foley and corinna handbag: Designer Jucca copies Foley + Corinna's classic Jet Setter
Oh yes I did.

While surfing around the pages of online department store YOOX I stumbled upon this bag, pictured to the right, which I originally mistaken for Foley + Corinna‘s classic Jet Setter, but upon clicking the image and further examination, it appears to not be what it seems. That’s always how it is when it comes to an amazing deal. I’ve never seen the Jet Setter on sale, reduced to up to 50% off. Unless it was at a sample sale or something.

Pick your hobo: Foley + Corinna Cargo Bag vs. Indah Hayden Mini Hobo

Pick your hobo: Foley + Corinna Cargo Bag vs. Indah Hayden Mini Hobo
If you check out the ‘What’s New’ handbag section over at Shopbop, you’re bound to see a couple of neutrals, some splashes of color and then these two crescent shaped hobos presented by two different parties.

We usually put handbags head-to-head when they resemble each other down to the bone, although these two don’t, we can gain some responses on which of the two would make your pick.

Foley + Corinna presents the navy blue, all pebbled leather hobo bag. It arrives oversized and with three bubbly pockets up front, you’re sure to keep organized and this bag extra neat. The single, thick leather shoulder strap looks as comfortable as it seems to carry this hobo, although its shape is unique indeed, I’m not too convinced that this would rank as a favorite in my collection.
