Foley + Corinna Bar Clutch Bag

Foley + Corinna Bar Clutch Bag
The Foley + Corinna Spring/Summer 2009 Collection is now available and, I must say, there are some very unique-looking bags this time around.

Pictured above is one of the bags I am referring to. Meet the Foley + Corinna Bar Clutch. No ladies, this isn’t a flag on a banner or a wine bottle gift bag — although it may resemble these things! Personally, my feelings about this clutch are still up in the air.

It’s eccentric, but certainly not in a bad way. I think this clutch would look best paired with something light, airy, and fun. The Foley + Corinna Bar Clutch is, in every way, a conversation piece. Everyone will be asking about this curious little bag with its zipper on its side.

So if you’re looking for something that will stand out from the crowd, then head on over to shopbop.com. There you will find it available in Black. It measures 7.5″ x 14.5″ and retails for $268.

The Clutch Trend: Choosing the Right Style For You
Clutches, clutches everywhere! As you may have already noticed, the latest handbag trend is clutches for everyday use. Yep, that’s right. Clutches are no longer an after-dark-only accessory. The new clutches are big enough to hold your essentials and then some. They are perfect for when you don’t want to lug around a large handbag. Running a quick errand? Just grab your clutch and go. Everything you’ll need will be right there at your fingertips. But even if you still want to carry your regular handbag around, you can still get use out of a clutch during the day. Simply replace you wallet with an appropriately-sized clutch and toss it inside your bag. Then if you decide to go out after work, all you have to do is pull your clutch out and you’re ready to go! Nothing says versatility more than the word “clutch”. So make sure to invest in a good one (or two, or three) this year. The convenience that they offer will be well worth it!

So you’ve decided to pick out a new clutch for Fall. However, with such a large selection out there, it may be difficult to find the right clutch for you. But don’t worry because I did a little bit of the legwork for you. Below you will see some of this season’s hottest styles and what use they are best suited for.

The Foley + Corinna Glazed City Clutch

What do I love most about the City Clutch (besides the gorgeous new colors for Fall)? The fact that it is both a shoulder bag and a clutch! You can wearing it like a regular handbag during the day. Shiny New Sale – Going on Now at Shop Bop
Summer is officially over. It’s time to wave goodbye to your shorts and flip flops. Unfortunately, you won’t be needing them any longer (Dang, I love my flip flops!). For me, I’m really sad to see the summer end. It is probably my most favorite season. There isn’t snow on the ground and my allergies aren’t driving me up the wall. Plus I just love those lazy afternoons, where there’s nothing to do but sit around and enjoy your sweetie’s company.

But there is something good about the changing of the seasons. What is that you ask? Why it is all those End-of-Season sales, of course! Right now at Shop Bop, they are having their Shiny New Sale and they have tons of great handbags marked down. Below are a few of my favorites. They are all discounted by at least 30%.

Foley + Corinna Arm Candy Clutch
The Foley + Corinna Arm Candy Clutch caught my eye today. Actually, come to think of it, just about any clutch seems to catch my eyes these days. But this clutch is somehow different. It is unique because this clutch is made by Foley + Corinna, but you wouldn’t know it just by looking at it. In fact, when I see this clutch I immediately think of Prada. Wow, Foley + Corinna must have wandered way off course if I’m starting to think their bags look like Prada designs! It’s either that or I’ve been staring at handbags a little too long! Despite all of this, however, I do find myself liking the clutch. The gathers in the leather, the puffiness, the hinged opening… what isn’t there to like about this clutch? And since it is Foley + Corinna, you know you’re getting a good quality bag for a very reasonable price.

The Foley + Corinna Arm Candy Clutch measures 18″ x 8″ x 4″ and is available in Glossy Black. I think this clutch would look best paired with a black and white, graphic print dress. Better yet, wear it with one of the hot new colors for Fall. The ocean blues and dark purples are so pretty this year!

Foley + Corinna Bender Bags

I’m a bit frustrated with myself that I didn’t snag one of the Foley + Corinna Bender bags from the HauteLook sample sale. By the time I logged on (8:00.01) almost all of the bags were on hold (common event @ HL sales), so I snagged the first bag that caught my eye — the City in slate blue pebbled leather. Although one minute after the purchase I was a bit disappointed because I really wanted to get the glossy blue glazed version. Oh well, I can’t complain too much since the prices were so amazingly low at this sale – I’m talking like under $200 for bags that usually carry a retail of double that.

I’m still craving the Bender.

The Bender bag, designed by New York designers Anna Corinna and Dana Foley, who bring their passion for vintage detail to this very modern, functional and spacious everyday bag.

Left: Bender in Black @ shopbop – $468
An ultra-chic, vintage-inspired style with a convenient, expandable shape.

Distressed leather handbag with magnetic-snap pocket at one side and turn-lock style clasp at other. Short, double handles and 13″ main compartment zipper. Lined interior. Measures 14″ height x 16″ length x 6″ depth. 6″ strap drop.

Right: Bender in Lichen @ Tobi – $485
This Bender Bag is a standout choice for spring in a serene green hue with gleaming gold hardware. The gold turnlock can be opened to reveal an expandable middle with zip closure. The other side of the bag features a hidden magnetic snap pocket. Measures 14″ height x 16″ length x 6″ depth. 6″ strap

Have you gals busted out your beach totes from the back of the closet, this year? If so, what type of beach bag do you own? I for one have yet to go to the beach and I haven’t updated my beach tote since last year either. I know it’s called procrastination, but besides that, I have yet to find a great tote. Well, I did run into this Foley + Corinna tote online. I don’t think I’m considering buying it, but I do think it would make a great one. To start off it’s made out of all reliable (and durable) canvas, and its décor of shiny silver leather trim adds character to the bag. Take a look at the picture above, if this bags leather is already bright, imagine how much attention you’re going to grab at the beach as the sun reflects off your bag, I don’t know about you girls, but I sure like that idea! Its 19”x16”x7” is an ideal beach tote size if you carry as many towels, sun products, and changes of clothing as I do. Buckles, metal feet, and flat shoulder straps are other great features found the Summer Fun Tote. Although this is a great bag, overall, I’m not sure if the $395 price tag is convincing enough, what do you ladies think?

Looking for a new bag for summer? How about one that is made of a fun, summery fabric? One that’s affordable? One that can be multi-functional? Well, you may just be in luck! Pictured above is the Foley + Corinna Linen City Clutch, which was brought to my attention by my fellow TBF’er JessLR. Thanks Jess!

As you all may have noticed, Foley + Corinna bags have been all the rage over that the Bag Forum lately. Plus I believe there have been several discussions about them at Bag Bliss (Example: Foley + Corinna Magenta City Clutch). So why is everyone going so wacko over these bags? I think it probably because people like the idea of two (or three) bags in one. Also, who could possibly resist that oh-so smooshy leather? Or the drop dead gorgeous colors?! Oh my! I just might start drooling!
Foley + Corinna Linen City Clutch
The new Foley + Corinna Linen City Clutch may not be made of the typical (delicious) leather, but it has all of the versatility of the traditional City bags. It can be carried on the arm (unfolded), over the shoulder (folded w/ strap), or in hand (folded w/o strap). That’s like having three bags all in one! Plus this version is just perfect for summer… such a nice, light fabric. And the price? Unbelievable! The Foley + Corinna Linen City Clutch measures 17″ x 11″ and features a metallic leather trim. It retails for only $175 and you can find it exclusively at shopbop.com.

Foley + Corinna Jet Setter Jr. Tote

Foley + Corinna Jet Setter Jr. Tote
I have officially been converted into a Foley + Corinna handbag admirer. Thanks to the lovely members over at tBF, I have added, and soon plan on buying a piece of the All-American brand. It seems to me that Foley+Corinna’s most popular handbags have to be the city collection. Whether it’s the clutch, tote, or mid., the cities seem to be the brands best sellers. What’s not to love about the versatile cities? You have the choice of a tote, a shoulder bag, or a huge strapless clutch.

What about this handbag? What do you Bagista’s think about it? Yes, it’s a F+C bag, but it’s a bit different, well, really different. It’s called the Jet Setter Jr. Tote, and personally, I am a fan of it. It’s not as versatile as the city pieces; instead, it’s a nice size shoulder bag, (that’s if you’re a fan of big bags). With a seven-inch strap drop, I imagine it fits nicely snuggled under the arm. Turn locks and buckles are features that can be found throughout this bag. So girls, would you rather carry a popular city piece, or would you rather try the different look of the Jet Setter style?

Foley + Corinna Magenta City Clutch
Not too long ago, I was introduced to the name Foley + Corinna, (yeah… I know… barely). After browsing through their accessories, I must say, I am really liking their city bag collection. Don’t they seem like such great everyday bags? They’re simple, stylish, and definitely worth their price tag. I know for a fact over at tBF, many bagistas like the City collection, and even though the same bag has been mentioned from time to time, I must show you all what color I discovered today. I spotted this Foley + Corinna City Clutch over at thepursestore (dot com). What do you all think? I must say I think this bag is really hot!

This City Clutch is dressed in smooshy pebbled pearl leather; it’s infamous rounded leather handles, shiny gold hardware, and is dyed in an amazing color! I simply adore the shimmery magenta leather, it’s just so eye catching, and it would make the perfect bright-hued accessory for this season.

Right now, head on over to thepursestore’s website and discover the magenta colored Foley + Corinna. By using the promo code: BDAY08, you can score an additional 30% off!!! Don’t forget, thepursestore offers complimentary ground shipping as well.
