“You Can’t Fake Fashion Bags” – The partnership began 3 years ago between eBay and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (aka CFDA) offering one-of-a-kind totes customized by 90 (you heard me, 90!) top fashion designers to raise awareness against counterfeit goods.
Time is running out. Less than 15 hours to go ~
Here are a few of my favorites, the most creative of the bunch that I’m following.
Valentine’s is coming up and pink is in the air! I’m single so I’m not fond of Valentine’s Day but I absolutely love when it comes around because stores are full of pink, which happens to be one of my favorite colors. A lot of designers also come out with Valentine’s Day collections around this time and I love to take a gander at them. One of the stylish items that caught my mind is the Whiting & Davis Charity “Heart” Clutch. It’s cute and perfect to carry around during the month of February.
When I saw the Whiting & Davis Charity “Heart” Clutch my heart instantly smiled. Not only is it adorable but 30% of the proceeds will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Fund. Breast Cancer has deeply affected four of my family members and all you can do is hope it never comes back. So many women are affected with Breast Cancer every year and it’s nice to see a designer brand give back and support awareness for it.
The term “Stay At Home Mom” is such a misnomer. No matter what age my children are, I am never home for too long. Whether it’s school, appointments, grocery shopping, kids activities or just trying to squeeze in a little me time, a mom is always on the go. She always has to be prepared for what’s needed too. When my children were little, it was spare diapers & wipes and a change of clothing. Now that they are older, I don’t need as many extras, but a big bag always comes in handy.
Personally, I think the perfect bag for a Stay At Home Mome has to be large, versatile and well-made. She’s busy and doesn’t have alot of time to change out bags, so they must go with everything. It needs to be large so that she can hold the necessities and then some. And it should be well-made so that it resists spills, dirty hands and anything else live throws at it! So, I spent some time over at Shopbop and came up with some fabulous items!
The quilted nylon Tory Burch Jaden Tote is sophisticated, roomy and sturdy. With rolled, double-handles for comfort, they are long enough for shoulder wear. A very roomy interior with side pockets will hold tons of stuff. It’s available in black and dry orange for $350. Although, items tend to get a little lost sometimes, that problem can be resolved by zip pouched accessories like the darling striped Rebecca Minkoff pouch set for $95.

As you probably already know, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month. An annual health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research to the cause, prevention and cure.
I surfed the web and gathered my favorite top ten products that support the fight against breast cancer:
Lauren Merkin has teamed up with the Young Survival Coalition to support Breast Cancer Awareness month.
They have created an ultra lux exclusive edition of the iconic Diana clutch, dressed in (the breast cancer awareness color) soft pink lambskin and accessorized with Swarovski crystals. The clutch retails for $275 with 50% of the proceeds of this Diana will be donated to YSC for the month of October.
Not only will you be Halloween tote ready for when the season rolls around, but each tote gives something back to a great cause.
The Jack-o-Lantern FEED Trick-or-Treat Tote retails for $13.20 and with each purchase through HSN.com, HSN is donating 100% of its profits (which is $3.50) from the FEED Trick-or-Treat bag initiative to the US Fund for UNICEF to help support global nutrition programs for children around the world.
Just in time for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Coach introduces the 2010 Coach “Think Pink” Breast Cancer Awareness Watch with a portion of the proceeds going to the cause. Coach will donate 20% of the proceeds from each watch sold from October 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, a charity dedicated to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention and cure.
The Coach “Think Pink” Swiss Quartz (Movado) watch features a soft pink leather strap, a unique mother-of-pearl dial designed with a pink-outlined Op Art Signature C pattern, complimented by silver-tone hands and applied markers. The solid stainless steel case-back is etched with the breast cancer ribbon motif.
It’s been a while since we here at BagBliss featured an eBay auction, but this is one that I just couldn’t pass up telling you about. The Elle Portable Light Project sale features designer created solar panel purses that generate clean, sustainable energy, with 100% of the proceeds going to a charity!
(drooling over the Diane von Furstenberg tote! (pictured above). Current bid only $150!!)
The Portable Light Project is a non-profit initiative that provides solar kits to those in poorer countries who don’t have access to electricity by creating new, fashionably chic ways to deliver de-centralized renewable power and light to the developing world. And it doesn’t stop there, the team over at PLP even partnered up with non-government agencies to help train women to integrate the technology into fashion using their local textile materials and techniques. The end product is something amazing: culturally diverse bags, blankets and more that generate clean, sustainable energy and light, while supporting local economies.
