Ember Skye Shelly Bag

At first glance, I would have sworn that the bag you see pictured here is by JJ Winters. Just look at all that fringe! And for some reason, I have become hardwired to believe lot’s of fringe automatically equals JJ Winters. I was surprised to learn, however, that this bag was not made by JJ Winters. It is actually from a designer called Ember Skye. Introducing the Ember Skye Shelly Bag!

Rebecca Minkoff Dreamcatcher

It’s interesting how our taste in certain bag styles change over the years. Thinking back 6.5 years ago when I started this bag blog I remember hating fringe, absolutely did not have one interest in the “Cousin It” look. But in recent years with the bohemian trend, the style has slowly grown on me. And well, I think this bag is fabulous. With the right outfit of course. Which brings me to the Rebecca Minkoff Dreamcatcher! The fringe trend at its best!

Versace fringed boho

With all the coverage of the Coachella music festival, I’ve been inspired for the Boho looks on everyone. How easy, romantic, earthy and down to earth everyone looks! Of course, Kate Hudson and Nicole Richie have been rockin’ Boho for several years and now with the starlets Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus embracing the look, it should be on the radar for awhile to come. Considering the publicity these ladies garner, you can understand why the Versace Fringed Leather and Twill Cross Body Bag caught my eye.

Ashley Greene Style: Gerard Darel Sac Seau Frange

ashley green Gerard Darel

On a trip to Vancouver this past weekend Ashley Greene was photographed all over town with Gerard Darel’s Sac Seau Frange Hobo. It’s the ultimate casual bag, perfect for weekend getaways.

The bag features an adjustable strap that allows the bag to be slung on your shoulder or worn as a messenger. So versatile and chic, this luxurious leather tote is the perfect boho-inspired addition to the Twilight star’s casual ensembles.

Horse + Nail Fringe Handbags

A Calgary native, Lindsay Hufnagel, moved to New York to develop her line of unconventional, statement bags that reflect her heritage and style aesthetic. Using high quality leathers, simple shapes and unique details, Horse + Nail handbags are eye-catching and bold. The brand name is derived from her last name Huf (horse) and nagel (nail).

Aside from quality and attention to detail, the key to a designers success in standing apart from others is a signature look. These handbags have them in stage with their huge gesture toward’s Miss Hufnagel’s western heritage. Oversized fringe accents the Walker Apache bag as well as the Chinook Lexington.

The Walker Apache bag features an oversized (14″ x 20″) rounded hobo shape surrounded by graduated fringe trim. Bullet charms dangle on the sides with over-sized, silver-toned horsebit hardware create a striking contrast as the handle for this bag. Soft grey suede skin makes up the body of the bag. A bold fabric lining with tiger print transitioning to snakeskin print create an unexpected interior. Zippered main compartment with interior zippered pocket finish the interior. This is definitely a statement bag with heavy western influences. This is a beautiful bag, but I might avoid wearing it to the airport. $1270.

Meli Melo Handbags

With dreams of designing the ultimate day-to-night bag, Italian-born Melissa Del Bono introduced her collection to the world in 2004. She named the line Meli Melo, which she says is her nickname that means “tangled hair” in french. More important though is the company’s dedication to bringing stylish, yet practical and versatile pieces to the table. Melissa draws her inspiration from a pool of Sicilian roots, international travel, and a passion for everyday life. She then brings all of these elements together in such a unique way, giving her designs a degree of charm and character found nowhere else. But did I mention these bags are also gorgeous? It’s no wonder that they have so quickly become “must-haves” among celebrities and everyday bagistas alike! Wow! And to think all of this started out as nothing more than a hobby!

Stella & Jamie Sue Fringe Bag

It’s time for a bit of fun — fun with fringe that is! And nothing would fit the bill better than a fringed handbag! No matter what style, they are one of the most playful accessories you can own! My favorites, of course, being those with mountains and mountains of fringe (e.g. JJ Winters). But if the thought of an all-over fringe bag sounds a bit suffocating to you, then there are definitely some great alternatives out there. I recently stumbled across a gorgeous bag with all the benefits of fringe, but it won’t weigh you down quite so much. Check out the Sue Fringe Bag from Stella and jamie!

This lovely leather bag features a classic hobo shape. It is slouchy and casual, yet simple and chic. The modest design is liven up though, thanks to a simple sweep of fringe running along the lower edge of the bag on each side. Plus the peek-a-boo pyramid studs on the ends add just the right amount of flair.

Rebecca Minkoff Swing

I would like to introduce to you the Rebecca Minkoff Swing Pouchette! Whoa… wait a minute! Rebecca Minkoff? Yes, you heard right. Although it doesn’t look like it, this interesting-looking bag is made by the same designer who brought us the Morning After Bag. I guess she was going for a Wild West look! But I won’t brush is aside quite yet. Rebecca Minkoff is still one of my favorite designers, so I feel like I should at least give this bag a chance.

Whiting & Davis “Liquid” Chain Fringe Clutch

Even though I don’t own many of them, I really love evening bags especially clutches. To me, they can really add sparkle to any evening outfit. I mean face it, there are some spectacular evening clutches out their by Judith Leiber and Swarovski. There are also beautiful evening bags that are priced more reasonably, like the Whiting & Davis “Liquid” Chain Fringe Clutch.

Obviously, it’s very hard to beat any clutch from Swarovski and Judith Leiber but Whiting & Davis did an amazing job creating a gorgeous clutch for an affordable price. First, anything fringe always has a sense of 20′s fashion to it, and mixed with the metal-mesh gives it a more modern look.
