Alexander McQueen Studded DeManta

Baby Pink and Mint are two of my favorite colors and I’m seeing them non-stop this holiday season. I guess they are the “it” colors for this Fall and upcoming Winter seasons because the two colors are literally everywhere and I’m loving it! I’ve seen just about everything in the fashion world featured in these two colors but one of my favorite pieces in the Alexander McQueen Studded “DeManta”. When I think of studs, I envision them being on a bold and dark color. I would of never have thought to see studs on a pink bag but I have to say I like it! It doesn’t make the bag look edgy but just gives it more of a stylish look. It’s like a girly and more feminine take on an edgy bag.

Holiday Gift Guide: Color Popping Bags by Chanel, Rebecca Minkoff, Reed Krakoff & Proenza Schouler

Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you have to settle for a boring ol’ monochrome bag. Don’t get me wrong, I love my shades of grey and black, but every now and then I feel like my outfit needs a burst of color. I live in Seattle and everyone wears black, grey and brown during this time of the season, and what better accessory than a color popping handbag.

Here are my picks this week:

WGACA Vintage Chanel Bag. $2700

Tory Burch Holiday Michelle Tote

“I was strolling down Madison Avenue, minding my own business, when this metallic pebbled leather bag started calling to me from the Tory Burch store. Guess it was meant to be,” said Oprah Winfrey.

The Holiday Porcelain Metallic Michelle Tote was chosen by Oprah as one of her favorite things to give this holiday season. Expected to be seen in the December issue of O, The Oprah Magazine and on the upcoming OWNtv special, Oprah’s Favorite Things.

I too am a pretty big fan of the Michelle tote. It’s the ultimate go-to tote. What I love most about the Michelle everyday carryall is it’s clean profile and spacious bucket size. Topping on the cake – the body of bag can easily be transformed with a few snaps into a trapezoidal shape.

Holiday Gift Guide: Crossbody Bags by Chanel, Tory Burch, Marc Jacobs & Fendi

What is it about the crossbody style that I love so much? I’m a huge fan of hands free. Whether I’m going to a concert or on a shopping binge, it’s a weekend favorite of mine.

Wondering what to look for? Bags that are crossbody should have an ideal length of 20″ + which all of these bags do.

1. Marc Jacobs Quilted Little Stam. $995
MJ Stam’s lil sister, the petite version is one of my favorite crossbody bags. It’s a popular style so it’s available in so many different colors. This bag has also been around for some time, so if you’re looking for a deal you can find the previous season for a great deal on eBay {Stams Page on eBay}.

2. WGACA Vintage Chanel Mini Bag. $2,730
Go vintage! I don’t have to tell you this, but Chanel is one of those labels that has looked amazing since the beginning. It’s passed the test of time. It’s a classic by every fashionista’s standards.

Yves Saint Laurent Poppy Roady

The large and practical Roady by Yves Saint Laurent has received a noteworthy makeover this season. The French house has skipped the holiday festive and introduced shades of scarlet, whites, and classic black into an image of cheerful poppy floral prints.

This season, floral appliqué seemed to be pretty popular amongst many fashion designers but I tend to prefer prints to textile appliqué. The oversized poppy presentation highlights the sketch and prevents the look of your grandmothers’ floral curtains. I’m no botanist, and I was first introduced to the Poppy flower via Coach’s poppy collection several years back. Although I always admired the collection, I never acquired one of their pieces, who knows, this may be my chance to finally obtain a poppy-print handbag for once.

Rebecca Minkoff trompe l’oeil Morning After Bag

As I always state, Rebecca Minkoff is one of my all time favorite designers. She hasn’t been around that long but ever since she came out with the Morning After Bag, I was hooked. Anything she designs is pure genius, iconic and definitely timeless. I could literally see myself carrying so many of her bags. If I wasn’t on a budget, I’d probably have 50 or more Rebecca Minkoff bags in my collection! For now, I’ll have to settle for just two.
