New York City based Venezuelan designer, Alexandra Satine (cutie patootie pictured above with the giveaway bag!) is one of those designers that if you’re not all that familiar with, you should put on your list to follow. The namesake brand is new to the scene and has only been on the market for a couple years now, since 2009.
And guess what! We’re partnering up with the designer and giving away the Brikel Bag from her Spring 2011 collection.
The classic shape is just so wearable and I could see this working well as an everyday bag for spring, summer, and beyond. The body of the bag is designed from super soft and scrumptious leather and minimally accessorized with lightly gold plated square hardware. Function-wise this bag features ample storage space on the inside as well as easy access snake-embossed leather flap compartments on the exterior, which is ideal for the those little things that you want close by, like your cellphone, transit pass, wallet, pepper spray etc. Also the strap makes this bag very versatile – huge fan! I am actually trying to win this for my mom because she truly deserves this. We’ve fallen on hard times and of course to save money my mom hasn’t bought herself anything for the past year. I love the design and I find it hard to find purses and/or handbags that I like. I only have one that a friend got me for my birthday last August. I think that the designer is brilliant with how she made the cut for the pockets and the neutral colors.

Why do I deserve this bag? I am in love with fashion! I am a dreamer, always dreaming big. Unfortunately thats all I can be. I am a 22 year old full time mom to a wonderful 2 year old, a full time employee, and a full time college student. With that being said I am doing it all and none of it comes easy. I work hard at everythi.g I do however everything I do I do for my family. Fashion is my passion but my family comes first. Although shopping for myself is what I would love to do now a days money does not come easy and my kid always come first. So why do I deserve this bag? I really like bags, I always have since I was a little girl. I am not picky about the price or don’t care about status; I just like what I like. It’s not the bag, but the person carrying it. I am a school teacher in an impoverished school district and while I would like to purchase a bag like this, financially I am unable to and it doesn’t make sense on my salary. Futhermore, I spend a lot of money purchasing supplies, etc. for my classroom so its just not fiscally smart. After being married to my husband for many years in the military, dealing with numerous wars Desert Storm Operation Iraqi Freedom are just a couple. Raising Five wonderful children. Moving every couple years and wondering most of times if i would have a husband to come home to me. 10 years with the USMC another 10 with US ARMY. Running a business of my own. Taking care of all household things, kids after school activities for years, 4 dogs and 2 cats. It’s my mom that actually deserves this bag. It’s been a tough several years, at the age of 21 I very very unexpectedly had a stroke. I ended up having to have two emergency open heart surgeries and remained in the hospital (in ICU for the most part) for over 3 months. The doctors told my parents to say goodbye because I wasn’t going to make it. Well, I did!! Since then life has been constant doctors appointments, surgeries, hospital stays, and cardiac rehab. I had to relearn how to walk. It was my mom encouraging me during the 5 months that it took to take my first steps again. It was my mom whose shoulder I cried on. Through it all my mother has been there for me. She’s held me up when I just wanted to give up. I don’t know what I would have done without here. So she deserves something nice. I want her to know how much I appreciate and love her.
