    Bag Bliss the bag blog
    Date Added: August 24, 2006, 2006
I get in the region of 1-10 emails a day from bag blog readers. The usual email is from a reader asking me to locate an item, giving me site suggestions or asking a question in general about blogging. If you are interested in joining the crowd of fashionista bloggers, then keep reading. If you don’t care, then click above to go enter to win Free Tickets to the Olympus Fashion Week Sept 9-12 – brought to you by your and my friends over at glam.com!

Email from Sami an Bag Bliss blog reader:
“Hi. I love your blog and I comment frequently. Actually I love it so much I was thinking about starting my own. Like a shoe / bag / accessory blog. But I was wondering can you make money at blogging? How much time do you spend a week blogging? Why do you do it? And do most importantly do you have to be a writer?
Thanks, for reading my email and I hope you keep in touch,
    - Sami”

My simple response to you Sami and every accessory loving fashionista is to definitely ‘Go For It!’ If you are passionate about fashion or any other topic, go for it and spread the word and I will even link to you. I love diverse opinions, every morning I enjoy sitting with my laptop and latte ebrowing around on other fashion and celebrity blogs. It’s all just your opinion, so that’s the answer to your question on whether or not you have to be a writer. Although it is a little bit annoying if the blogger is misspelling every word, so be sure to use spell check.

Can you make money at blogging? The financial side of things is that you will not make a great deal of money if you are just starting out, so I wouldn’t quit your day job just yet. You can make a decent amount through affiliate programs and such, however if you are a blogger like me who spends a lot of money on giveaways (louis vuitton wapity and free Bag Bliss good for every tBF member that hits 200 posts) or on other random stuff like a website and software (good thing I have a web designer in my pocket – not really in my pocket) or if you want a forum (vbulliten and seo) then you may be dishing out more money then what you make at first. There are free basic blog templates out there, so give it a try and let me know how things go.

How much time do you have to spend blogging? Well Sami, it all depends on how successful you want your blog to be. Some days I spend 1 hour while other days I spend up to 20 hours (that’s the intense shots of espresso brainstorming days). Average is probably around 8 hours, don’t ask what I do because I dont know, it seems like I am on here all day. I love blogging, it gives me something to do while on summer break and I adore my community of bagista’s (and a couple bagister’s) over in the bag forum.

    Ciao for now,
    Jennifer
