The Artisan Corner is a new unique event that brings the craftsmanship of Gucci’s Florentine leather goods factory directly to its clientele. And this month the House’s most skilled artisans will travel to a select few Gucci stores here within the US, where they will be stationed at custom-built workshops.
The Artisan Corner will include work tables, a sewing machines, a leather stand, and various tools that are used to make some of Gucci’s most memorable leather goods. The artisans be working on various classics like the Bamboo, New Jackie, New Pelham, G Wave and as well as small leather goods. Gucci announced, “Customers will be able to see craftsman as they hand-stitch handles, assemble bamboo tassels, prepare leather strips for woven stitching and hand emboss customer’s initials, offering a unique viewing of Gucci’s time honored traditions.”
The Gucci Artisan Corner tour will embark on it’s four city US tour beginning on April 19th at Gucci’s Stockston Street in San Francisco and making a few more stops in Beverly Hills (April 22), Chicago (April 26), and finally finishing up the tour at Gucci’s 5th Avenue flagship in Manhattan on April 29th.
