The fall/winter season is definitely an exciting time for handbag trends. It is no secret that I am not a fan of those colder months. But when it comes to handbags, I do look forward to the trends that reappear year after year just as I am getting ready to break out all my sweaters. Don’t get me wrong, summer trends can be fun. I just feel like the fall/winter trends have a more sophisticated vibe, which I happen to love. So if you are looking for a handbag to add to your holiday wishlist, I highly recommend picking something that falls under a currently coveted trend. Below are some suggestions from my favorite fall/winter trends. Enjoy!
Favorite Trend #1: Red
Saint Laurent Classic Sac De Jour Leather Tote. $2950
MICHAEL Michael Kors Medium Selma Top-Zip Satchel. $298
Red is always right! A lot of people don’t realize this, but red is actually a fantastic handbag color. It is bright and bold, yet somehow neutral at the same time. Personally, I love red satchels. They look so sophisticated and they really do go with just about any look.
Favorite Trend #2: Winter White
Gucci Soho Leather Hobo Bag. $1950
Rebecca Minkoff Swing Bag. $330
White is no longer an after Labor Day faux pas. You can wear whites year round, just as long as it is in a seasonally-appropriate material. For handbags, this typically means leather. I prefer a shoulder bag when it comes to white pieces. That is because you want to keep it as far away from your blue jeans as possible (i.e. color transfer!).
Favorite Trend #3: Rocker Studs
Tom Ford Jennifer Studded Leather Mini Bag. $2690
Milly Studded Mini Bag. $225
This season is all about textures! My favorite texture is definitely studs. They can be contrasting or tone-on-tone, whatever you prefer. But with all that detail, I think studs look best on mini bags.
