The original bags are very expensive. This may be due to the 48 hours of labour taken to produce one such quality driven craftmanship. So if you took the average costs of say £2500(I think I am being very conservative here with the price) and divide that by the hours taken to produce it – it would work out at £52 GB pounds. This figure makes no account for the costs of the animal skin itself. This could range hugely in price from alligator to calf skin.
If my profession was to make quality hand bags – (I would probably be working at a lower rate as an employee) I would like to think that the sum of the parts are greater than the whole. So whilst these may be out of the reach of most people, if you like quality luxury goods – then value for money wise, and the name that comes with it – its not a bad buy? I’ll let you decide if and when you purchase one or you already have one?
For me – my recent purchase of the Hermes 40 brief case is my own proof to myself that quality products are priced for those who understand and appreciate the time taken to produce them more over the price that is charged for them.
