When I was a kid, I remember my best friend and I would always go to Claire’s and buy all these best friend accessories. You know, the ones that came in pairs. They had key chains, necklaces, bracelets just about everything in that store was available in a best friend package. The point of buying them was that you got to keep one and your best friend got to sport around the other piece so everyone would know you’re, “best friends.” Sounds cheesy, but back then we thought it was the coolest thing ever.

The holiday season is fast approaching and it might be time to think about a festive handbag to brighten your look. Nothing screams holiday party time (and “disco fever”) like a handbag covered head to toe in sequins! The sequin “trend” — as some people might call it — is something that pops up around this time, year after year. It is a fun, bold look that might not tickle everyone’s fancy. I’m currently in the air, on a plane as I write this blog entry. Of course, being a lover of fashion it takes me forever to pack for trips. I have to have numerous outfits and make sure everything matches from head to toe. One thing I found to be utterly annoying as I was packing is that I had no where to put my jewelry. Being someone that has jewelry that matches with different outfits this was a huge problem! I had to search around my house just to find something to put my jewelry in? Definitely not normal in my eyes. After hours of searching, I had to settle for an old lipstick case that was able to hold two pairs of earrings and two bracelets.

When I was browsing through Shop Bop I came across the Felix Rey “Happy Diamond Lady” Jewelry Case. I was instantly drawn to it because you would expect it to be a kids change purse more than a jewelry case. Which is probably a good thing these days with the amount of theft.

You may remember the obsession I had with the 3.1 Phillip Lim Edie Studded Bow Bag last summer (read about it here). I just love the style and the price isn’t too bad either! Sequins has been everywhere this year. Anything that is considered fashionable has featured sequins on it in someway so it’s no surprise that designers also felt the need to capitalize on this trend. BE & D was one of the designers that that incorporated sequins on their handbag designs.

BE & D is currently one of my favorite handbag designers. Their designs go well with my edgy style and they definitely have handbags that look like no other brand out there. I have to admit though, I’m not a fan of sequins. It always makes my skin itch, and I feel it’s more a night trend. Someone that wears sequins during the day always looks so silly, but who am I to judge?

There’s something about the round puffy appearance of a pompom that seems to attract mass attention, and the House of Louboutin seems to agree as well.
