House of Holland Roll the Dice Clutch

    By BrS · On February 9, 2015

When I was a kid, my dad purchased a “hot rod” to fix up and take to car shows. I never really understood it, but my brother was always fascinated by the whole thing. I think I only rode in that car a few times, including once in a parade. It smelled musty and the engine was very loud. But there is one thing that still stands out in my mind, even to this day. Hanging from the rear view mirror was a pair of fuzzy dice. Why they were so popular at the time, I will never know. Now I know what you are thinking. You are wondering what this has to do with handbags. Well, nothing really. But I saw the House of Holland Roll the Dice Clutch and my mind instantly went to those cheesy fuzzy dice.

Now House of Holland is known more for their 80s-inspired t-shirts, not for their handbags. But this rather unusual handbag is definitely worth mentioning. The shape is a perfect cube, just like a traditional die. There are no dots on the sides though. Instead the sides feature different colors, patterns, and textures (haircalf and snake-embossed leather). One side zips open to reveal the interior, which is completely open. A wrist strap is attached at one corner and, given the shape of this clutch, it would be the most practical way to carry it. The color palette consists of red, white, and blue. And yet, in no way does this clutch scream Fourth of July. Although not your traditional clutch, I think this piece is totally doable. It would probably be best to stick to casual occasions though.

Retails for $580. Available here at ShopBop!
