Jean Paul Gaultier Satin Marine Clutch
As you ladies have already seen in Deysa’s post on Jean Paul Gaultier’s Camouflage Bag (see it here: Jean Paul Gaultier Camouflage Bag), M. Gaultier has once again brought us another installment of “unusual” bags. Yes, his bags tend to be a little bit… um… “out there” when it comes to design and color choices. Bags that look like clothing? Yep, he’s got those! Bags that have weird stuff printed on them? You bet! What I find most amusing though, is what eluxury has to say about his work:
Quote: The French designer, who has no formal training, expertly mixes interesting hues, intricate detailing, and ethnic influences with a solid respect for fashion history to create his exuberant collections.
Hmm… expertly, huh? Now don’t get me wrong ladies, Jean Paul Gaultier makes some of the most beautiful clothes. But for some strange reason, he’s been having a bit of trouble with his handbag collections lately. And they all just leave me wondering what went wrong!
Now the Satin Marine Clutch I have pictured here seems to be hold truth to the Jean Paul Gaultier style. To avoid being too much of a downer though, I’ll try to list some positive points about this clutch. For one thing, its shape is cute and resembles a little trinket box making it very vintage-like. Also, the exterior is covered in satin. Who doesn’t love the luxurious feeling of satin? Unfortunately, this is where a good stuff ends because printed on the side of the clutch is an orange octopus! Exotic animals can be kinda cool on a handbag… but why is it an octopus? Hmm… I don’t think this one is for me.
The Jean Paul Gaultier Marine Clutch retails for a whopping $1,295. You can find it here at eluxury. Plus don’t forget they are offering free shipping on anything for a limited time only!
