Gucci GG Plus Rolling Suitcase
Doing some holiday traveling this year? Unfortunately, traveling over the holidays is not in the cards for me this year. But for some reason, I never seem to pass up the opportunity to look at new suitcases. I like the idea of having a suitcase that is stylish, yet not overwhelmingly feminine. The reason for this, do you ask? As childish as this may seem, it is mostly because of my husband. If I don’t want to get stuck lugging around all the bags, then they better not be covered it a cute little print! Granted, I can understand him being embarrassed if a suitcase he is holding was covered in, say, a Hello Kitty print. But anything even remotely feminine seems to send him running for the hills… or at least our gate at the airport.

So I spotted this suitcase over at Bluefly and I think it has many of the qualities I am looking for in a unisex carry-on. Meet the Gucci GG Plus Rolling Suitcase. It is sleek, stylish, and in a neutral color (dark gray). Plus is has some great features such as a file pocket, retractable handle, and wheels. Unfortunately, this suitcase is not perfect. What I dislike most about it is its price tag. Even on sale, the Gucci GG Plus Rolling Suitcase costs about as much as the slightly larger Louis Vuitton Pegase 50. And if given the choice, I would pick a Louis Vuitton over a Gucci any day. Sorry Gucci!

The Gucci GG Plus Rolling Suitcase measures 13″ x 15″ x 6″ and has a 16″ retractable handle. Find it at Bluefly where it is currently priced at $1,912.

Just received an email from the lovely people over at YSL: New men’s bags are now in stock over at ysl.com

I love the men’s line of bags. So simple and classic, a bag that you could truly wear for years without going out of fashion.

Here are the guys pictured above:
Mombasa Messenger Bag.

Tumbled leather messenger bag with deer horn handle, adjustable strap and magnetic snap closure. 11” H x 10” W x 2.5” D. $895

What do you guys think of the horn detail?

Rivoli Tote Bag.

Quilted vinyl tote bag with attached zip wallet and inside cell phone pocket. $645

I don’t know the exact measurements of this one, but it looks like the perfect size for a day tote.

Muse Overnight Bag.

Tumbled leather overnight bag with brass hardware, detachable shoulder strap and luggage tag, double zipper, functional brass lock and key, and protective brass feet at base. 15” H x 24” W x 8.5” D. $2,195

I know this might sound odd, but I’m not that in love with the ladies Muse (museTwo is another story :wub2: ), but the men’s overnighter is just plain awesome. I like it.

Tanger Tote.

Tumbled leather bag with canvas and leather handle, detachable luggage tag, inside-zip pocket and protective brass feet at base. 17” H x 19” W x 4.5” D. $795

Man-Bag: Prada Canvas Messenger

Man-Bag: Prada Canvas Messenger
Man-Bag: Prada Canvas Messenger
The other day my co-worker Johnathan (who happens to be a fashionista himself) approached me from a distance. I knew he had news to share, as I was able to pick up the excitement glowing all over him. It was that “new handbag” vibe that us bagista’s give off as we walk out in public carrying our latest acquisition. Upon viewing his new messenger styled man-bag (from a distance), I would have never guessed it was a piece of couture, until I saw the oversized Prada logo engraved right up front. It was a good size but a bit plain, definitely masculine, but not eye-catching. I speak for myself when I say that I hate how many of my non-logoed bags don’t get the attention they deserve, as if they must scream “DESIGNER” in order for them to receive a second glimpse. Then again, the community of handbag lovers seems to expand by the day, feeding into the male population as well. I’ll buy a bag because I love it, with no intentions to please others. Just like my buddy digged the tan jacquard canvas, brown leather straps, and gold-toned hardware found on his new Prada.

Guys, what do you think about this Prada?

Louis Vuitton Damier Graphite Collection - Now Available at Eluxury!
Louis Vuitton Damier Graphite Collection – Now Available at Eluxury!
Listen up Bag Bliss readers! The Louis Vuitton Damier Graphite Collection is now available at Eluxury! These bags have been receiving a lot of attention over at TBF. Everyone wanted to know when the bags would be available and how much they were retailing for. And do you know what the funny thing was? These were all women inquiring about these bags for themselves. It is true that they are “man bags”, but I think my fellow TBF’ers are on to something. I mean, the Damier print is just gorgeous in this color combination. Now if only Louis Vuitton would produce a Speedy in the Damier Graphite print (Psst… everyone over there at Louis Vuitton headquarters. Are you reading this?). But for now, I think everyone will just have to be satisfied with the styles that are currently available. Hmm, that Tadao would actually make a nice work bag for either a man OR a woman.

The Louis Vuitton Damier Graphite Collection can be found within the Mens section for Louis Vuitton on Eluxury’s website. Pick one up for your man, or get one for yourself!
Pictured above (starting on the upper left and going clockwise):

Damier Graphite Grimaud – $1,840
Damier Graphite Keepall 55 – $1,270
Damier Graphite Ieoh – $1,330
Damier Graphite Tadao – $1,310

update: eluxury no longer exists

I’ve officially found the least expensive Chloe bag out in the market. How “cheap” you might ask? Well, it holds a price tag of $135, and yes, it is authentic! With a retail price as low as that, of course a reason should be given. Is it a factory reject or a return? Not exactly, but let’s just say that this bag isn’t as classy or couture as the other Chloe’s I usually tend to drool over. Meet the See by Chloe, and just in case you forget, its name is advertised throughout the front of the tote for reference. Instead of finding luxurious Chloe leather, red canvas is the material of choice. Personally, I don’t hate this bag, nor am I going to snatch one up. Sure I can think of a couple of ways to put this bag to use such as: a book bag, an overnight bag, or a tote to sport to the beach. But with a price tag as steep as $135 for a solid ‘ole canvas tote, I know I can find a couple of canvas totes with cuter designs at my local mall for a lot less. Victoria’s Secret Pink anyone??! Of course if you’re a fan, remember it’s only $135! My only question right now is, I wonder if they come with a dust bag?

Hermes Bolide Overnight Bag

Hermes Bolide Overnight Bag
Hermes Bolide Overnight Bag
Without reading the title of this article, would you have ever guessed who the infamous designer of this overnight bag is? I definitely wouldn’t have, since this bag isn’t really the designer’s brands most popular style or design. In case you haven’t yet, meet the Bolide overnight bag, by French couture brand, Hermes.

Ahh… Everyday, I dream of that day where I’ll walk into a Hermes boutique, and hours later, leave with a big and heavy orange shopping bag. Unfortunately, I am nowhere near that day. Sigh. Although this is indeed a fact, I was a bit surprised to find an authentic Hermes, for sale, online (and not on eBay). The dome shaped leather bag is indeed different in comparison to Hermes most recognizable styles (Birkin and Kelly). This bag is also an overnight bag. Ladies, if I’m spending over 8K on a handbag, it better be an everyday/every-weather handbag! I will state that I’m not fond of the leather’s color, either. Yes, I do own quite a few brown handbags, but for that kind of money (and for an Hermes) I’ll be sure to find an eye-catching color to compliment a head-turning bag. If you can pull off a huge bag, and if you’ve got $7,560 to spend (it’s marked down 10%), head on over to BlueFly (dot com) and check this bag out, now.

Louis Vuitton Monogramouflage Treillis Tote

Louis Vuitton Monogramouflage Treillis Tote
Just about every season Louis Vuitton comes out with a set of Limited Edition bags. Sometimes those Limited Edition bags had the creative input from a high profiled artist. Takashi Murakami has shared his creative expertise with quite a few Louis Vuitton collections including the Multicolore, Panda, Cherry Blossom and many more. Takashi Murakami’s latest collection for Louis Vuitton is the Monogramouflage. Monogramouflage was inspired by one of Murakami’s major works “magic ball.”

The Monogramouflage collection has it’s pro’s and con’s. The collection is not eye candy, but yet the style of the bags are quite fabulous. One of the styles I absolutely love is the Treillis. To me it is so versatile and I could easily use it as an everyday handbag, or a school bag. The name tag adds a spectacular final touch to this handbag. It’s gorgeous and accents the bag very well with it’s shiny gold hardware. The nametag even has a special message that says: “Monogramouflage Édition Limitée Takashi Murakami Louis Vuitton.”

I wish Louis Vuitton had this bag in all the collections. It’s such a great bag to me, minus the hefty price. This bag retails for a steep $1,610 and will only go up in price one the next price increase comes our way… whenever that may be.

You can see the Treillis at: eLUXURY

Balenciaga Cherche Top Handle Tote

Balenciaga Cherche Top Handle Tote
Balenciaga Cherche Top Handle Tote
European couture name Balenciaga, is known for its lavish goods. A majority of its accessories sports gorgeous treated chevre leather in a variety of textures and colors. The designer names’ most popular line hands down has got to be the motorcycle line, and in more detail, the gorgeous motorcycle handbags. As many of you bagista’s have probably seen by now, the black handbag pictured above is not part of the brands most common line. In case you haven’t ran into this style, may I introduce to you the Cherche Top Handle Tote by Balenciaga. As I look towards my 2007 black motorcycle city (which lays on a stack of Harpers Bazaar magazines found on my bedroom floor), I hardly find any resemblances at all. The only similar feature found on both styles would have to be that leather-bound mirror, which I find so incredibly useful. Different features found on the Cherche Top Handle include, pebbled leather versus distressed motorcycle leather, and most importantly, a structured silhouette versus a supple body. If you gals love Balenciaga and dare to try something a bit different, the Cherche Top Handle could possibly be a great suggestion. Plus, right now its marked down 20% off its original retail price!

Balenciaga Polo Tote in Purple!

Balenciaga Polo Tote in Purple!
Balenciaga Polo Tote in Purple!
For the past couple of days I’ve been keeping an eye out for purple hued handbags ever since I learned how popular the shade is going to be this coming fall. I keep on asking myself whether a bag with such a rich color as purple would last me all year long or just for the season. I also wonder if spending a couple of hundred or so to satisfy my purple crave is the way to go, or if splurging on a premium designer name is totally necessary for such a great colored bag. Who knows! But I do know that the infamous Italian name Balenciaga carries this great violet bag.

Right now over at BlueFly, Balenciaga’s “Polo” Tote (in purple) is marked down 20% from $1310 to $1048. Now there’s one great “splurge” find. As Balenciaga is known for its amazing distressed or buttery-soft leather, this bag is no exception. Double chained straps and an open top for easy access make the “Polo” tote a great everyday bag. The limited amount of silver-toned hardware found throughout the tote compliments the bags “colour” perfectly. This Balenciaga is one of the many examples of purple handbags I would definitely splurge on, and I also know that this beauty won’t sit for long on the sales rack!
