When I was in middle school, there was a super hot trend among all the girls at my school. Everyone just had to have a backpack. Not a school backpack, but a fashion backpack. They were backpacks that essentially functioned as handbags and nothing more. Where they cute? I suppose all the girls at my school thought so at the time. But this was quite some time ago and I was pretty sure this whole fashion backpack thing was dead and gone… FOREVER. Well, no, it isn’t actually. Just as other old trends have been resurfacing, the fashion backpack has once again entered the handbag world. Will the trend stick around? Only time will tell. In the meantime, I have found myself giving in and taking a peek at what this trend currently has to offer. The styles out there aren’t too bad. The trick is to get something that feels handbag-ish. Classic materials like leather are good and so are neutral colors. Even better? A style that can be worn more than one way (i.e. handbag or backpack).
The Row has come out with just such a style. Introducing The Row Leather Drawstring Backpack (pictured above)! This sleek and smooth leather bag can be worn two ways: as a shoulder bag and as a backpack. So depending on your mood, you have some versatility to play around with. I love the simple design and the refined gold tone hardware. This bag is beautiful, but it comes at a price… $3900 to be exact. Yikes! This is only for the hardcore trend enthusiast.
