Marc by Marc Jacobs Intergalocktic Static Plaid Nova Bag
When I first stumbled across the Marc by Marc Jacobs Intergalocktic Static Plaid Nova Satchel, I couldn’t help but giggle at the name a little bit. What immediately popped into my head was my husband and one of the silly things he likes to do. He will pop in a Beastie Boys CD while we are driving and blast it really loud just to annoy me. If you haven’t guessed where I’m going with this yet, it is “Intergalactic” that he likes to play.
Now I’m not sure where Marc Jacobs was going with the name of this bag. There is a flap front with a turn lock closure, but Marc Jacobs is always using turn locks in his designs. Since the name had managed to catch my attention so well though, I thought it was worth giving the bag a good second look. The overall shape and style is nice, I like how it is sort of casual and puffy. The design, however, I am not so sure about. From a distance, it almost looks like some sort of woven plaid fabric. In reality though, this bag is made of textured PVC. The plaid pattern is simply printed on there. I would love to see this bag in a solid color. Marc Jacobs has a bit of a goofy side though when it comes to some of his designs. So if you are feeling a little bit goofy and carefree, then this might be just the bag for you.
