Marc by Marc Jacobs Jumbled Birds Scrunchy Tote

Well Marc, first it was dogs and now it is birds. Unlike the dogs though, these birds have no names. Who are the birds seen on the Marc by Marc Jacobs Jumbled Birds Scrunchy Tote? Are they birds that you see outside your home? Or birds that you have seen while traveling somewhere? Hopefully I will get a chance to see this bag in person. From the picture, the scrunchiness of the tote obscures most of the birds. The red bird is definitely a tanager though. And I’m thinking the blue one is a Lazuli bunting. Perhaps the brown one with the long peak is supposed to be a red-shafted flicker. Tell me Marc, am I close here? You should understand that since I am a biologist, I am dying to know!

Guessing games aside though, I do find the Marc by Marc Jacobs Jumbled Birds Scrunchy Tote to be a rather attractive bag. When it comes to nylon totes, it is difficult to find styles that are actually stylish. I love the drawstring closure and the long tassels it creates when the strings are pulled tight. The scrunched up shape gives this tote a fun, softened appearance that is a step away from the typical rectangular tote. Plus I like how the logo print is subtle and it doesn’t distract from the true focus of this bag… the cute little birds! It is the perfect casual tote for a day of shopping! Or even for toting around books for school!

Yeppers. I love this tote. The design is a little bit too spring for me though. I think it would have been a cute bag pre-fall.

I think it would be neat for a travel bag. At least that’s what I would use it for. But not to replace my longchamp tote though. :)

I like it, but I’m not a fan of the nylon. Does this come in a leather version and without the jumble print?

I wonder what kinda of birds they are too :) I really like the design. Different, but very MJ.
