Marc by Marc Jacobs Metal Check Groovee Purse
When I first approached this bag from a distance, my first thought was, it’s a L.A.M.B bag. If you can recall L.A.M.B’s Checkerboard Line from a while back, can you see the resemblances. Well surprisingly, I was wrong. It’s actually the Metal Check Groovee bag, a piece by the Marc by Marc Jacobs line. Surprised? I definitely was. I did recognize the Groovee’s silhouette, but the pattern totally threw me off. I’m not a true fanatic of squared check designs, and this is coming from a gal whose last handbag purchase resembles a giant checker board with handles. As I look at the metallic and grained leather collaboration, I just can’t seem to like it. I feel its a bit too punk rock for my taste and if I’m going to do dark, I would totally prefer a solid black leather Groovee instead. I also feel this satchel is too trendy rather than classic, and the $598 price tag is a bit steep for something that would sit in the back of my closet for most of its bag-life.
What do you ladies think about this bag, do you all like it? Is the Metal Check Groovee impressive, or a MBMJ disappointment?
