Lately, I’ve been into smaller handbags which is kind of weird considering I’m big bag kind of gal. Usually, I try to stuff as much as I can in my larger handbag. Sometimes I even put my lap top, jacket & as much food as I can in my bags. It’s that serious, big bags are definitely my thing. However, as of recently I have been using smaller bags on a daily basis. I’m not sure why but I’m sure the insane heat in South Florida has to do with it. It’s simply too hot to carry around a big bag. It would literally feel like a workout!

These days, I love classic and simple looking handbags. To me, simplicity is best. It keeps a bag looking classy and sophisticated, if you take care of it of course. My all time favorite bag is the Hermes “Birkin”. Yes, It’s a very expensive bag but it’s on the simple side. There isn’t much to it but it’s absolutely breathtaking. Every time I see one in person my heart stops a bit. They are stunning and the structure is gorgeous! The “Birkin” is one of those bags that catches your eye instantly. One day, I’ll have one. I know it!

Since, I can’t afford a “Birkin” just yet, it’s nice to see other designers design bags that are also beautiful and on the simple side. The Marc by Marc Jacobs Globetrotter “Calamity Rei” Satchel is definitely a gorgeous looking bag that is quite affordable. I love the timeless look of it and I think it’s a bag you could carry all year long. I would personally love it in black but the beige color is very pretty too.

The thing about simple bags is that you can carry them any time of the day. They can go with a wide variety of outfits. If your daytime outfit is on the casual side, a simple bag will blend in perfectly. However, if your evening outfit is a little more upscale looking a simple bag would compliment it well because it doesn’t take the limelight away from your fabulous outfit.

I’m not sure what it is, but Miss Marc has a funny way of warming my heart. Perhaps it is that adorable frown she always has on her face. It is probably one of the cheeriest colors I can think of. Right now, it would seem that a lot of handbag designers agree with this sentiment.
