Wow, Marc Jacobs has sort of been off my radar lately. I just stumbled across a very interesting style today. Suddenly, I am finding myself intrigued by Marc Jacobs all over again! Just take a look at this bag. It’s called the Marc Jacobs Woodblock Terry Nomad Hobo. Simply looking at it, I probably would not have thought Marc Jacobs at all. But that is what makes Marc Jacobs so much fun. He isn’t afraid to try new things!
What really grabbed my attention was the black and white design. You may recall from one of my earlier posts that black and white is expected to be super hot this coming Spring. However, the pattern on this bag is rather unique. It’s described as a “woodblock” pattern. I believe that is woodblock, as in a woodblock carving that is used to stamp the pattern onto paper or canvas. It’s actually something I remember doing in art class when I was in high school. Even more unique though is the material used for this bag — terrycloth. Pair that with the pompom fringe and this bag is surprisingly full of texture! Not bad. But I can’t help but feel this should be a Marc by Marc Jacobs style instead of Marc Jacobs. With such a trendy piece, I find the collection price tag a little hard to swallow.
