The Dazzling new Marc Jacobs NY Rocker Sequin Stam Bag
Perhaps the most famous (not to mention most recognizable) Marc Jacobs handbag is the Stam. It truly is an iconic piece, making it the perfect cornerstone to any handbag lover’s collection. I think what fascinates me the most about the Marc Jacobs Stam is how it can be reinvented again and again without ever missing a beat. It certainly is a bag of many faces, each of which is beautiful in its own way. With so many exciting versions to choose from, you can probably imagine my excitement when I learned that a new Marc Jacobs Stam would be joining the club.
From the Spring/Summer 2010 Collection, I present to you the Marc Jacobs NY Rocker Stam! This sequin-covered satchel simply screams glamor! I really like how blue and silver sequins were used to create a pattern that somewhat resembles those splattered paint designs that were popular in the 1980s and 1990s. Very retro-chic! This bag also features pyramid studs near the top of the bag and a new slimmer version of the classic kiss-lock closure. And the gold hardware paired with the blue and silver sequins offers a very unique look. When it comes to Marc Jacobs, you definitely start to expect the unexpected!

Love the shape, but this incarnation of a classic isn’t a classic for me. The
sequins are just a bit too much!

I think the smaller version of this bag is fabulous for evening wear. Day, not so much. Sequins is more of a night occasion bag for me. Also, I was wondering, is this actually what the shimmer looks like? Or is there a pattern?
To me honest with yall I think the studded part looks a bit cheap. And the sequins, well that be a little bit too much holiday season style.
I am a woman who loves sparkle, shine, glitter, studs, rhinestones, hot pink, and animal print. With that being said, even this bag is too much for me. The silver studs, shiny sequins, and gold clasp and chain make the bag waaay too busy. It’s ashame that this bag had to be ruined with an overzealous designer. Let’s go back to the Stam in some amazing colors.
