Michael Kors Jet Set Travel Tote in a familiar check look

    By BrS · On April 30, 2014

Taking inspiration from other designers is commonplace in the world of handbags. You see obviously inspired styles everywhere, particularly when something from a high-end designer has become extremely popular. It does go both ways though! I have seen high-end designers taking inspiration from lesser-known brands as well.

The diffusion line for Michael Kors is certainly no exception. They seem to take their inspiration from many different designers, including some well-known high-end designers. But you know, that’s okay. MICHAEL Michael Kors also has some very nice and affordable pieces that appear to be unique to their name and are well-known by their fans. I guess what shocked me a little bit was this latest signature print that you see here. Wow! From a distance, someone could easily mistake this for Louis Vuitton’s Damier print. The brown checkered patterns are virtually identical, with the exception of a faint “MK” signature overlay that seems to disappear at a distance. Although there are many styles with this new signature print, the MICHAEL Michael Kors Jet Set  Travel Tote really caught my eye because it looks so similar to the Louis Vuitton Neverfull. Jet Sets have been around for a long time, but I don’t recall them ever being mistaken for anything else.
