I have developed a fondness for Charlotte Olympia lately. Why? Well, that is a very good question. But it’s also a difficult one to answer. To be honest, I’m not really sure what the allure is. For some reason, I just feel drawn to these unusual pieces. Perhaps it’s simply because I like to see something new. Let’s face it, Charlotte Olympia’s designs are not something you see every day. Plus I’m excited because this latest season was inspired by the city of love — Paris! However, these pieces aren’t inspired by what I would call your typical Paris icons. Take a look at the Charlotte Olympia Perfume Perspex Clutch and you will see what I mean.
When I first saw this clutch the first thing that blurted out of my mouth was, “ohhh this looks like a Croissant.” Not to be mean of course, that’s what this clutch looks like to me. Then I read the description and saw that this bag was in fact made to replicate this famous French crescent-shaped breakfast puff pastry, in gold form. I personally think this clutch is delicious gorgeous and worth taking a double glance.
As I’ve stated repeatedly in my blog posts I’m kind of obsessed with evening bags and Judith Leiber is one of my favorite designers for them. No, I don’t any Judith Leiber clutches but I promise you that one day I will have a collection of them! They are so unique and I firmly believe every woman can find at least one Judith Leiber clutch she loves. There is literally a bag for everything! I personally like anything girly or pink so I fell in love with the “Hot Fudge Ice Cream Sundae” Minaudiere. Not completely girly because anyone can love ice cream but it is pretty unique to look at it. I would expect to see someone eating ice cream while I’m out not carrying a sundae as a bag.
As I’ve written before, I love gorgeous and unique evening clutches. With that said, I’ve fallen head over heels for the Reece Hudson Swarovski Crystals and Stone Bead Minaudiere. This clutch is drop dead gorgeous and if I owned it I would probably carry it non-stop. It’s so bright and pretty that you can even get away with using it during the day time. I personally always dress up and I can already envision a ton of outfits that I could pair up with this beauty. The color is breathtaking and perfect for the upcoming Spring season. Also, the crystals and beads featured on the clutch compliment the color of the bag well and overall the bag is stunning.
For a girl that carries a lot of junk in her everyday bags, I’m obsessed with evening bags and clutches. Perhaps maybe because they keep me a little more organized and prevent me from carrying my whole makeup collection in them. In all seriousness, if someone gave me the choice to carry a large satchel or a small evening bag that’s 1/10 of the size of the satchel I’d still pick the evening bag. I love that they are so small, compact and they usually have amazing detail on them. Speaking of bags with amazing detail, I’m currently obsessed with the Kotur “Margo” Lace Minaudiere. It’s pink, it has lace and it’s small so it’s safe to say that I really want it!
Every month, I write about my favorite Judith Leiber handbag of the moment. I feel like every time I write I state that “this is the cutest” Judith Leiber bag I’ve seen yet. She just keeps designing cuter and cuter bags and there is always one I love! At this very moment, I absolutely love the “Ringaling” Rotary Phone Minaudiere. I’m currently in Acting School and I’m studying my butt off so I can eventually move to Los Angeles. When I get my apartment in L.A. this is the type of phone I would want in my place. It doesn’t have to be functional but it sure would be a lovely piece to look at.
When it comes to handbags, I think every fashion lover out there has their own preference. For me I use satchels the most, I’m dying to own an Hermes “Birkin” and I’m obsessed with evening bags. Evening bags are made with such detail and are usually very glamorous. I have a list a mile long of evening bags I would love to own but a common theme in all of them is that they’re all unique looking. I never even bat an eye at the average fashion accessory. Every stylish accessory I tend to fall for is usually very different, girly or sparkly. I’m an extreme feminine woman the more cuter an accessory is, the more likely I’ll give it a chance and want it.
I’m a girly girl but I also like things that are a tad different from the norm. I tend to not follow trends but if I absolutely love a trend I wait until it’s not popular anymore to I can take part in it. I’ve never been one to follow the crowd or wear what everyone else is wearing. What fun is that? So we can all look like identical robots? I’m not a fan of any of that but I do like buying things that make a statement. I love wearing things that not very many people have or can buy. Whenever I go out, I get complimented on at least one thing on me. Being different is fun. Just look at how much fun Lady Gaga is having. Yes, her music is good but her eye catching fashion always makes the news first.
I love crystals, stones and pretty much anything that is sparkly. Just today, I walked around the mall for a good three hours and everything I fell in love with had some type of bling on it. I saw lots of gorgeous clothing pieces as well as shoes that were adorned in crystals. They were all drop dead gorgeous and of course I wanted them all. The only crystal type bags I ever see are by Judith Leiber and Swarovski. Both brands make stunning clutches and I’m proud to own a Swarovski one. With that said, while browsing around Neiman Marcus today I came across the Marchesa Lily Crystal Box Clutch and I instantly fell in love. The clutch is breath taking and I can seriously envision a bride carrying this around on her wedding day. I know most brides normally don’t get a clutch to go with their gown but if any chose to this should be the one!
